Tonight’s MLB DFS main slate has 12 games, starting at 7:05 pm ET on DraftKings and FanDuel. The suggested picks for the slate are reduced to four starting pitchers, three stacks, two studs and four values/punts.
Tuesday's Starting Pitcher Strategy
The pitching is stacked tonight. Still, the top option on the table is easily the best pick in cash games. The second-ranked pitcher has a high ceiling at home, making him an excellent GPP pick. The third pitcher has an outstanding matchup and excellent stats this year, making him the best SP2 in cash games at DK. Finally, the last pitcher is risky. Regardless, he has a compelling case to be an SP2 in GPPs at DK.
Cash Game Recommendations:
Blake Snell (SD) vs. COL
Snell was good, albeit lucky, in his recent starts. According to FanGraphs, in his previous five starts spanning 31.0 innings, Snell has had a 1.45 ERA, 3.62 xFIP, 1.03 WHIP, 12.1 BB%, 33.1 K%, 30.4 CSW%, 105 Stuff+, 94 Location+ and 100 Pitching+.
The veteran lefty is a stud at home, too. In 82.1 innings at PETCO Park this year, Snell has a 2.73 ERA, 3.49 xFIP, 1.21 WHIP, 12.5 BB% and 32.6 K%.
The Rockies are a Charmin-soft matchup tonight. Colorado is 30th in wRC+ (67) and has a 26.1 K% versus lefties in 2023. They're 29th in wRC+ (75) and have a 25.0 K% in the previous 30 days. Additionally, the Rockies are 30th in wRC+ (75) and have a 27.3 K% on the road this season.
Ryan Pepiot (LAD) vs. DET
Pepiot hasn't pitched much for the Dodgers this year. However, he's been dynamite in five appearances (three starts), spinning a 2.00 ERA, 2.83 xERA, 3.92 xFIP, 0.63 WHIP, 2.0 BB%, 22.4 K% and 29.8 CSW% in 27.0 innings.
He should continue his dominance as the projected primary pitcher in a tasty matchup tonight. The Tigers are tied for 27th in wRC+ (85) and have a 25.0 K% versus righties in 2023. Detroit is tied for 16th in wRC+ (95) and has a 26.4 K% in the previous 30 days. Finally, they're tied for 25th in wRC+ (86) and have a 24.2 K% on the road this season.
GPP Recommendations:
Zac Gallen (ARI) vs. SF
Gallen is a stud at home. In 90.2 innings in Arizona this year, Gallen has a 2.18 ERA, 2.63 xFIP, 4.0 BB% and 30.5 K%. He shouldn't have much trouble with dazzling the home crowd again tonight.
The Giants are 18th in wRC+ (97) and have a 24.1 K% versus righties in 2023. San Francisco is also tied for 18th in wRC+ (93) and has a 26.0 K% on the road this year.
Clarke Schmidt (NYY) vs. TOR
Schmidt isn't a flawless pitcher. Still, he's pitched well lately. In his previous five starts spanning 28.2 innings, Schmidt has had a 3.77 ERA, 3.80 xFIP, 1.26 WHIP, 6.6 BB%, 23.8 K%, 29.9 CSW%, 92 Stuff+, 101 Location+ and 101 Pitching+.
Schmidt is also rock-solid at home. In 77.2 innings at home this season, he has a 3.94 ERA, 3.87 xFIP, 1.17 WHIP, 4.9 BB% and 22.8 K%.
The matchup is challenging. However, Toronto's lineup is righty laden. So, it might not be as difficult of a matchup as meets the eye. Schmidt has held righties to a .281 wOBA this season. Finally, the betting info is decent. The Yankees are -108, and the game's total is 8.5 runs.

The Padres have an above-average offense and a favorable matchup. The Friars are tied for 13th in wRC+ (102) versus righties in 2023. San Diego is ninth in wRC+ (114) in the previous 30 days. They're also sixth in wRC+ (114) at home this season.
San Diego will take cuts against Ryan Feltner in his return from the 60-day Injured List (IL). In eight starts spanning 35.1 innings this year, he has a 5.86 ERA and 5.24 xFIP. The 27-year-old righty has allowed a .324 wOBA to righties and a .358 wOBA to lefties this season. In addition, Colorado's bullpen is dreadful, tying for the highest ERA this year.

Alex Cobb has massive home and road splits. While the veteran righty is outstanding at home, he's terrible on the road. Cobb has a 5.26 ERA on the road this year after tallying a 5.20 ERA on the road last year. As a result, Arizona's average offense is an enticing matchup-driven stack.

The Dodgers have one of MLB's top offenses. This year, they're second in wRC+ (118) and second in ISO (.198) versus righties. Los Angeles is tied for third in wRC+ (124) in the previous 30 days. LA is also tied for third in wRC+ (121) and third in ISO (.207) at home this year.
They can steamroll any righty. Yet, they face a below-average one they can pummel tonight. Alex Faedo has a 4.45 ERA, 3.86 xERA and 4.60 xFIP in 15 appearances (12 starts) this season.
- In 467 plate appearances against righties this year, Juan Soto has hit 25 homers with six stolen bases, a .416 OBP, .270 ISO and 162 wRC+.
- Corbin Carroll has hit 20 homers with 39 stolen bases, a .362 OBP, .264 ISO and 140 wRC+ in 437 plate appearances against righties this season.
- Nelson Velasquez has ripped eight homers with a .274 ISO and 101 wRC+ in 127 plate appearances against lefties in the majors.
- In 161 plate appearances against righties this year, Bo Naylor has mashed eight taters and stolen four bases with a .335 OBP, .230 ISO and 121 wRC+.
- Anthony Volpe has hit five homers with four stolen bases, a .336 OBP, .236 ISO and 126 wRC+ in 126 plate appearances against lefties in his rookie season.
- In 79 plate appearances against lefties as a rookie, Andruw Monasterio has hit one homer with three stolen bases, a .418 OBP and 138 wRC+.
Tuesday's Hitter Strategy
The best stacks are too pricey to use in cash games with the suggested pitchers tonight. So, instead, they're best reserved for GPPs. Gamers should mix the featured studs and values/punts in cash games.
