Fantasy Football Trade Advice: Jordan Addison, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Joe Mixon (Week 3)

Week two is in the books, and it already feels like chaos has reached a fever pitch across the NFL. We’ve seen plenty of upsets, plenty of stars underwhelm, and some rookies who received little fanfare throughout the spring and summer see themselves become fixtures in fantasy football lineups. You’re likely looking at your roster and beaming over the points your team has scored thus far, or you’re itching to make a move that could help elevate your team.

Early Week 3 Fantasy Football Trade Advic

Three Players to Buy

Jordan Addison (WR – MIN)

After hauling in four receptions for 61 yards and a score in week one, Jordan Addison kept the points coming thanks to three receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown in week two against the Philadelphia Eagles. His snap percentage increased from 56% to 69%, and he is locked and loaded as a piece of a potent Vikings passing attack. Thanks to the best receiver in football playing across from him, Addison figures to see his fair share of single coverage throughout the season despite putting his own production on display. With the Vikings struggling to run the ball and leaning heavily on the pass, Addison should be viewed as a locked-in WR2 for the rest of the season.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR – SEA)

We know the talent that Jaxon Smith-Njigba is. We knew it from his sophomore season at Ohio State, and nothing has happened that should change our minds. With that said, if the manager in your league with Smith-Njigba seems panicked due to his lack of production over the first two weeks of the season, now is the time to try and buy. He’s seen 11 targets across the first two games, just like Jordan Addison has, but the production hasn’t come along the same way. Still, there’s reason to believe Smith-Njigba can be just as productive in the Seahawks’ passing attack. He’s on the field running routes and seeing targets; the production is coming sooner rather than later. Buy now before the price jumps after his first blow-up game, and be happy you did.

Joe Mixon (RB – CIN)

The Bengals fell to 0-2 after losing to the Ravens, and their offense started in the same funk we saw against the Cleveland Browns in week one. Things began to improve in the second half against Baltimore, but Joe Mixon still has not found the endzone through the season’s first two weeks. His efficiency hasn’t been bad – he averages 4.4 yards per carry and has seen ten targets in the receiving game in the first two weeks. The Bengals will get going, and the touchdowns will come for Mixon. Better days are ahead for him, but if you can pry him away in redraft leagues from someone in exchange for a wide receiver who popped in the first couple of weeks and you have the depth to do so, I’d be a big fan of acquiring a true three-down runner on an offense that we haven’t seen the best of.
