Fantasy Football Trade Advice: CJ Stroud, Sam LaPorta, Adam Thielen, Ezekiel Elliott

Another wild week of NFL action is behind us and boy, was it a doozy! We had a ton of points put on the board across the league, particularly by the Dolphins, who scored ten touchdowns against the Broncos. Rather than list the obvious names like Raheem Mostert and Devon Achane, here are some other players who saw their trade value change from last week due to their Week 3 performances.

Fantasy Football Week 4 Trade Values

Trade Value Risers

CJ Stroud (QB – HOU)

Stroud finished the week as the 10th QB in fantasy. He completed 20 of 30 passes for 20 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Stroud has looked very efficient and tactical as a rookie, more so than many expected. I think a lot of the credit should go to his receiving corps of Nico Collins, Robert Woods, and fellow rookie Tank Dell. Stroud is someone I’m targeting in trades in all formats, but especially in leagues where I drafted players like Justin Fields or Dak Prescott who have been underwhelming thus far.

Ezekiel Elliott (RB – NE)

The running back carousel in New England continues to rotate as Zeke saw a whopping 40 percent of the team’s carries against the Jets. Rhamondre Stevenson was billed as a bell cow back but this week felt more like a 1A-1B kind of situation. If that’s the case, I’m sending an offer to acquire Zeke before his price goes up any further. The way the running back market looks right now, you’re going to need more RBs than WRs to win a title this year. Stash Zeke for the playoffs and hope he stays healthy.

Adam Thielen (WR – CAR)

Sticking with the old faces in new places theme, my WR riser is Adam Thielen. He went off in Week 3 for 145 yards and a touchdown on 11 catches. I’m not sure this is to be expected every week, but Thielen could be on waivers in your league or maybe even be added in a trade for cheap. Some Thielen managers might be willing to sell high after this performance, and I think it continues with Andy Dalton under center for now. If I have him, I’m holding on, and if I don’t, I’m inquiring just to see if the other team needs something I can offer in return.

Sam LaPorta (TE – DET)

Back to another rookie for my final riser, Sam LaPorta. Eight catches on 11 targets for 84 yards and a touchdown is a helluva statement. The Lions seem to have hit the jackpot on this one, and it’s only been three weeks. LaPorta finished as the TE1 on the week in PPR scoring and is a bright spot at a dark position lately. If he keeps this up, LaPorta could find himself in that second tier of tight ends behind Travis Kelce. If you roster LaPorta, you’re not moving him for the world. If you don’t, the price is likely way too high to even bother offering. But hey, who knows, right?
