Fantasy Football Start/Sit Advice: Josh Downs, Treylon Burks, Marvin Mims Jr., Tyjae Spears

Which under-the-radar players might be able to give your fantasy team a lift? Which chalky players might not be as safe as they seem? Our featured analysts name some potential sleepers and underachievers, along with start/sit advice for Week 4. Check out all of our sleeper studs to target and duds to avoid for the week. And below we dive into a few notable fantasy football players ahead of Week 4 lineup decisions.

Fantasy Football Week 4 Start/Sit Advice

Marvin Mims Jr. (WR – DEN)

Marvin Mims Jr. leads the team in receiving yards (195), yards per route run (7.22), and TPPR (33.3%). Yet, he has only 27 routes run this season, 41 fewer than Brandon Johnson and 15 fewer than Lil’Jordan Humphrey. However, this might be the week Sean Payton actually utilizes the rookie wide receiver. The Bears have surrendered 178.7 receiving yards and 29.8 half-point PPR fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season. They have also given up eight receptions of over 30 yards over the first three weeks. If he can have more than nine routes run in this matchup, Mims could end the week as a top-12 wide receiver.”
Mike Fanelli (FantasyPros)

“The Broncos can play him more, play him less, I don’t care. Marvin Mims Jr. will make the most of his asinine utilization. Mims has already posted two weeks as a flex-worthy option because of elite efficiency despite barely seeing the field. A matchup against the Chicago Bears in Week 4 could set the scene for a full-on breakout.”
Seth Miller (Crossroads Fantasy Football)

Marvin Mims Jr. faces off against a Chicago Bears defense that is giving up 285 passing yards per game, ranked in the bottom three of NFL teams. We haven’t seen Mims Jr. command a huge share of the targets yet, but I believe he will start working himself more into the game plan beginning this week. His big-play, deep-threat ability should be on full display against the Bears.”
Anthony Corrente (The Dynasty Drive)

Treylon Burks (WR – TEN)

“I still have hope for the current WR77 in PPR scoring: Treylon Burks. He saw a season-high six targets in the Titans Week 3 loss to the Browns, but he only caught one of them for five yards. He got 76 yards in Week 2 so it definitely feels like he’s being given an opportunity to produce in this offense. I really hope you have better options, but I know I’m starting Burks in a league or two where I don’t, and I don’t hate it.”
Andrew Hall (FantasyPros)

Tyjae Spears (RB – TEN)

Tyjae Spears is a good sleeper start in Week 4. Spears saw 56% of snaps to Derrick Henry‘s 38% in Week 3. Henry only has 11 more total snaps than Spears on the season. With Henry nursing a toe injury, Spears is a solid play against the Bengals. ”
Joe Orrico (No Expert Fantasy Football)

Josh Downs (WR – IND)

Josh Downs is a player who isn’t generating as much buzz as he should be. He’s playing fewer snaps than Alec Pierce but is an 80% route participant and has out-targeted Pierce in every game this season, including his 11-target game last week. Downs hasn’t fully broken out or registered a touchdown yet, but that could be coming this week in a fast-paced matchup with the Colts offense running the fifth most plays per game and the Rams running the sixth most. The Rams defense is surrendering the sixth most fantasy points to opposing slot wide receivers, so you’re getting a decent PPR floor with Downs’ target volume, but potential for much more.”
