FantasyPros’ experts Derek Brown and Pat Fitzmaurice took a deep dive into stats from every team and picked out the best for you to know heading into the 2023 fantasy football season. Below we examine a few of those stats to know for some of the top fantasy football draft targets.

Fantasy Football Draft Outlook

James Cook: James Cook ranked first in explosive run rate, 15th in yards after contact per attempt, and 12th in yards per route run (per Fantasy Points Data).

Miles Sanders: Miles Sanders has surpassed 1.00 yards per route run once in his career (2019, his rookie season). In 2022, Sanders finished fourth in EPA per carry, immediately ahead of Nick Chubb (minimum 100 carries).

Joe Burrow: Joe Burrow has ranked first and second in passing grade against the blitz over the last two seasons (per PFF). In 2022, Burrow ranked fourth-highest in checkdown rate behind only Joe Flacco, Andy Dalton, and Carson Wentz (minimum 150 dropbacks per Fantasy Points Data).

Tony Pollard: Among 42 qualifying RBs, Tony Pollard was first in explosive run rate and yards after contact per attempt. Among the same group, Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard ranked ninth and 18th-lowest in yards before contact per attempt (per Fantasy Points Data).
