Jimmy Garoppolo agrees to a restructured contract

Jimmy Garoppolo and the Raiders have agreed to a restructured contract that creates $17M in cap space.

Fantasy Impact

Garoppolo’s willingness to restructure his deal allows the Raiders to have more flexibility heading into the 2023 season. The 31-year-old veteran signed a three-year contract this offseason, but does have an opt-out after the 2024 season. Garoppolo played in 11 games with San Francisco last season and completed 67.2 percent of his passes for 2,437 yards, and tallied 16 touchdowns to four interceptions prior to suffering a season-ending injury.

K.J. Osborn listed as a starter on Vikings’ unofficial depth chart

On the Vikings Week 1 unofficial depth chart, K.J. Osborn is listed as a starter, ahead of rookie WR Jordan Addison.

Fantasy Impact

The unofficial depth chart is not the end-all-be-all, but Osborn being listed as a starter for the Vikings is a good sign that he could see a large percentage of the team’s snaps. Still, Addison is lurking as a wideout who will earn a large number of targets, and with Justin Jefferson and T.J. Hockenson both on the offense, it is hard to see enough volume for everybody to eat. Nonetheless, Osborn showed he can be a valuable flex play, particularly as a streaming option, for a Vikings offense that should be playing in many shootouts.
