Marquise Brown listed as questionable for season opener

The Arizona Cardinals are listing WR Marquise Brown as questionable for Week 1 of the regular season.

Fantasy Impact

Hollywood was limited in practice all week with a hamstring injury, and his involvement during the preseason and offseason has been mired by injury and rehab. The Cardinals have not officially named a starter, but reports from NFL Network said QB Joshua Dobbsis expected to be under center. Regardless of who plays QB, Brown will be a welcomed member of an otherwise unproven WR room, if he plays.

Christian Watson (hamstring) out Sunday vs Chicago

According to Packers’ HC Matt LaFleur, WR Christian Watson will miss the team’s opener against Chicago due to a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Impact

The Packers will miss Watson’s big-play ability on Sunday, and fantasy managers relying on the second-year wideout will have to wait to see him make his debut. In Jordan Love‘s first opening day start, he will now have to turn to lesser-known options, especially if Romeo Doubs (hamstring), who is questionable, cannot go. Given the circumstances, second-round rookie Jayden Reed could see a significant increase in targets, as well as rookie TE Luke Musgrave. Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillion could see some extra looks, as well.

Darren Waller (hamstring) questionable for Week 1

Giants TE Darren Waller is listed as questionable for Week 1 due to a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Impact

Waller was limited in practice Friday and his Week 1 status is now in doubt. The Giants will turn to Daniel Bellinger as their starting tight end if Waller does not suit up against the Cowboys Sunday. With the Giants playing late Sunday night, fantasy managers will want to either look elsewhere or have a backup plan in the event Waller is ruled out.

Joe Burrow confirmed to start in Week 1

Bengals coach Zac Taylor confirmed Joe Burrow will start on Sunday against the Browns.

Fantasy Impact

This was the expectation after Burrow was able to practice all week. He dealt with a scare earlier in the offseason after suffering a non-contact injury in training camp, but he was able to work his way back and will be good to go for the season opener.
