Fantasy Football Injury Outlook: Deshaun Watson, Joe Burrow, Derek Carr (Week 4)

Welcome to Week 4. As always, don’t forget to check sportsmedanalytics.com for your injury updates throughout the week, and hit us up on Twitter/X @FantasyPros and @SportMDAnalysis.

Now, here we go. Here’s my outlook for all notable injuries for Week 4. And below we dive into a few different players.

Week 4 Fantasy Football Injury Report

Deshaun Watson (QB – CLE)

TBD. Lean towards playing. Although it may seem counterintuitive, QBs have a relatively high rate of playing when listed as questionable with shoulder injuries. Comments suggest a mild AC sprain or rotator cuff irritation. In either case, we’d anticipate low performance impact.

Derek Carr (QB – NO)

TBD. Lean towards playing. This is mostly a pain control issue, so the fact that he’s already able to throw suggests he’s passing the biggest hurdle already. While AC sprains average 2 weeks – and would theoretically be more impactful for QBs – there is a high rate of being active after logging even limited practice sessions.

Joe Burrow (QB – CIN)

He’s going to keep playing. While we should continue to expect limitations, we should also expect major improvements from week to week as long as he doesn’t reaggravate the injury. Look for continued emphasis on the shotgun formation and quick passing game.
