Check out the latest news and notes around the NFL.

Jaylen Waddle (concussion) doesn’t practice Thursday

Jaylen Waddle (concussion) did not practice for the Dolphins on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact

Waddle is still in the NFL’s concussion protocols and is not practicing for the time being. It’s unclear if he will be able to get through the protocols before Sunday’s game, but either way, it’s not good that he’s not at practice. If he’s out this week, fantasy managers can expect QB Tua Tagovailoa to not be as strong of a start against the Broncos, as he would have to look to someone like Braxton Berrios to fill the speedsters’ WR2 role on this offense.

Kenneth Gainwell (ribs) limited at practice Thursday

Kenneth Gainwell (ribs) was limited at Philadelphia’s practice on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact

Gainwell was out for Week 2 after suffering an injury to his ribs, and now he’s back and practicing in a limited fashion. All reports seem to suggest that he’s trending towards playing in Week 3, and that’s a Monday night game for the team, which gives him an extra day to recover. His return will impact the usage of D’Andre Swift, and it’ll be worth taking note of who gets more work with Swift coming off of a big game.

DeVonta Smith (hamstring/thigh) limited at Thursday’s practice

DeVonta Smith (hamstring/thigh) was limited at Philadelphia’s practice on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact

Smith is a new addition to the team’s injury report, being listed with injuries to his hamstring and thigh that left him limited. The severity of these injuries are unknown right now, but the fact that he’s practicing multiple days away from game day is a good sign for his availability. In the off chance that his status is affected for Week 3, the Eagles will have to look to Quez Watkins to step up and play a starting role in his absence.

Puka Nacua (oblique) doesn’t practice Thursday

Puka Nacua (oblique) did not participate in Los Angeles’ practice on Thursday but is expected to be good to go for Monday’s game.

Fantasy Impact

Nacua was not able to practice on Thursday because of an oblique injury. He was dealing with the same issue leading up to Week 2 but was still able to play and dominate, and the expectation from the team is that he will be able to do the same again this week. The rookie has been super impressive to start the year and is a must-start fantasy option against the Bengals, assuming he’s active and fully healthy.
