Diontae Johnson (hamstring) placed on IR

Diontae Johnson (hamstring) has been placed on injured reserve.

Fantasy Impact

Johnson suffered a mild hamstring injury in Week 1 that will force the team to place him on their injured reserve. His original timeline for return was somewhere between 5-6 weeks, and he will have to miss at least a minimum of four while on IR. George Pickens, Allen Robinson II, and Calvin Austin III all have a clearer path to fantasy relevance with Johnson out, but his absence will hurt QB Kenny Pickett moving forward.

Joe Burrow: dealing with calf soreness Monday

Joe Burrow, who reaggravated his calf injury during the Bengals’ loss to Baltimore, is dealing with soreness Monday, per HC Zac Taylor.

Fantasy Impact

The soreness report from Taylor is a bit ambiguous, but the practice reports should tell a greater story about the star QB’s Week 3 availability. Burrow and the Bengals offense has struggled mightily over the first two weeks, and with the calf issues still affecting Burrow, there could be more struggles in the Cincy offense. If Burrow does play in Week 3 vs. the Rams, he is still worth starting as a possible bounce-back candidate.

Jakobi Meyers (concussion) ‘headed in the right direction’

Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers is ‘headed in the right direction’ in terms of his concussion, per head coach Josh McDaniels.

Fantasy Impact

McDaniels quote on Meyers indicates that the veteran is likely still in the concussion protocol, but it closer to being cleared. Meyers will look to return in Week 3 after sitting out the Radiers’ loss to Buffalo due to a concussion he suffered in Week 1.
