Jaylen Waddle (head) enters concussion protocol Monday

Jaylen Waddle, who suffered a head injury in the fourth quarter of the Dolphins’ Week 2 win over New England, has been placed in the NFL’s concussion protocol.

Fantasy Impact

Waddle must clear the league’s protocol if he is to suit up for the Phins in their Week 3 home opener vs. Denver. Often, concussions cause players to miss a week, but when they return, there are usually no lingering effects from the severe injury. If Waddle cannot go in Week 3, Braxton Berrios and River Cracraft will be pushed into a higher usage role.

David Montgomery (thigh) considered day-to-day

David Montgomery (thigh) is considered day-to-day according to Lions head coach Dan Campebell.

Fantasy Impact

Montgomery avoided a more serious injury, exiting Sunday’s loss with a thigh bruise. Fantasy owners will want to monitor the running back’s practice status throughout the week ahead of a Week 3 home matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. If Montgomery is unable to suit up, expect Jahmyr Gibbs to see an increased workload, with Craig Reynolds also factoring into more early-down work against the Falcons.

Chigoziem Okonkwo to wear rib protection moving forward

Titans TE Chigoziem Okonkwo is going to wear rib protection moving forward after taking a hit in the ribs early in Sunday’s game.

Fantasy Impact

Okonkwo had a solid day in the Titans Week 2 win and should continue to operate as a solid streaming option moving forward. The 24-year-old wearing rib protection should help him avoid injuries that would prevent him from seeing the field on a consistent basis.
