Jakobi Meyers scores two touchdowns in Raiders debut

Jakobi Meyers was quite productive in his Raiders debut, catching nine passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns against the Broncos on Sunday. Las Vegas ultimately defeated Denver by a score of 17-16. Meyers exited late after a penalty-inducing hit. He was evaluated for a concussion.

Fantasy Impact

Meyers had just two touchdowns from 2019 to 2021 (three seasons, 46 games), but he found the end zone six times last year and now opens his Raiders stint with his first career multi-score game. If Meyers can continue to earn targets in a somewhat crowded offense, he’ll be a high-end WR3 on a weekly basis. Managers will need to monitor his injury status ahead of Week 2.

Diontae Johnson (hamstring) ruled out Sunday

Steelers WR Diontae Johnson has been ruled out for the remainder of the game with a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Impact

Johnson went down clutching the back of his leg after being tackled. Johnson was taken to the locker room and quickly ruled out for the remainder of the game. Fantasy managers should expect the team to release more information on the severity of the injury soon. Johnson caught three of his six targets for 48 yards prior to the injury.

J.K. Dobbins confirmed to have torn Achilles in season opener

J.K. Dobbins tore his Achilles in the Ravens season opener against Houston. The running back went down early on in the second half and did not return.

Fantasy Impact

It’s a brutal blow for Dobbins, who was trying to secure a contract extension before the start of the season. The talented back has had an injury-riddled career and his road to a meaningful contract has gotten much more difficult if not completely evaporated. Baltimore will likely add a veteran free-agent running back in the coming days.
