Fantasy Football Early Waiver Wire Pickups: Josh Downs, Romeo Doubs, Joshua Palmer (Week 4)

The week is nearly wrapped up, and of course there were another round of injuries and surprising performances. As a result, fantasy managers will be on the lookout for wavier wire additions and replacement options for those injured over the weekend or just to bolster their lineup moving forward. Here are a few players to consider adding via the waiver wire this week.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets

Joshua Palmer (WR – LAC)

Rostered: 0.7%

Palmer is a near-exclusively “if Mike Williams misses time” claim. Mike Williams was carted off the field, and Palmer finished with 14.6 points.

Josh Downs (WR – IND)

Rostered: 3.1%

The 2023 third round pick has 24 targets through three weeks. The fantasy scoring hasn’t been there in spades, but that start to his rookie season is promising enough to warrant his being added in most leagues.

Romeo Doubs (WR – GB)

Rostered: 27.2%

I’m not pouring significant waiver priority or dollars into Doubs because Christian Watson’s return is impending, and the Packers’ plethora of young receivers could eat at his target share. However, he’s averaging 6.7 targets per game through three weeks, making him fantasy-relevant.

Once your fantasy football team is drafted, the work is not over. Successful in-season management is crucial to a winning fantasy football season. Here are some tips to help you manage your team effectively throughout the season:

Stay up to date on player news
Keep track of player injuries, suspensions, and other news that may impact their performance. This will help you make informed decisions about which players to start each week.

Monitor the waiver wire
