Roster construction is crucial in fantasy football. We love the “boom/bust” players, but your team needs some level of stability. Drafting players with high floors helps provide stability in your starting lineup and reliable bye-week fill-ins. Let’s take a look at some high-floor wide receivers being drafted outside of the top 24 picks overall.

2023 High Floor Wide Receivers

Chris Godwin (WR – TB)

Godwin has one of the safest floors of any mid-round receiver. Despite being recently removed from a torn ACL, he hit double-digit fantasy points in every game he played in with a normal snap count last year. Although his team will likely be at the bottom of the league, Godwin is still an excellent candidate for a high floor.

Tampa’s league-leading pass attempts will come down, but their run game could continue to struggle, and their offensive line took another blow with the loss of center Ryan Jensen. The offense will still need to push volume through the air. Baker Mayfield‘s skillset leans more towards shorter passes underneath rather than big plays. Godwin should continue to be a target hog with a very reliable floor.

Michael Pittman (WR – IND)

Pittman’s 2022 was rough, but being the first look in his receiving corps gives him enough volume to provide a solid floor at an excellent ADP. His current ADP puts him at a low-end WR3 on most platforms – a stark difference from 2022 when he was being drafted as the WR12.

Pittman suffered from consistency and upside issues in a Colts offense that was led by a Matt Ryan, Sam Ehlinger and Nick Foles. But, sheer volume as the top option on the field makes him a candidate for a high floor and the offense should improve with Anthony Richardson‘s mobility. Pittman a safe pick to hit double-digit fantasy points on a weekly basis at a discounted ADP.

Romeo Doubs (WR – GB)

When looking for strong floor options, you want to target players with reliable snap counts. If you can get a guy on your bench with a guaranteed 80% or more snap count, you can rely on him as a regular flex option.

Doubs officially steps into the WR2 role in Green Bay, and his preseason connection with Jordan Love has been strong. Doubs’ rookie season saw him earn a snap count consistently above 80% while averaging nearly seven targets per game.

Doubs also scored three touchdowns between Weeks 3 through 8 before having his season derailed by injury. That’s a fine early season rookie line. He heads into 2023 primed for a volume role within the Packers’ offense. Doubs is a potential steal at his ADP.

Jakobi Meyers (WR – LV)

Meyers has served as one of the safer high-floor bench options over the last two seasons with New England. Although Meyers finds himself on a new team with a new quarterback, he’s reunited with his former offensive coordinator – Josh McDaniels.

Davante Adams is the clear WR1 in this offense, but the Raiders lost Darren Waller and Mack Hollins. Meyers should serve as the second look for Jimmy Garoppolo. Touchdowns will likely be inconsistent limiting his ceiling but Meyers should see enough targets to make him a viable flex option for bye weeks when you’re looking for a player to give you reliable points.

Diontae Johnson (WR – PIT)

Johnson saw regression across the board in the majority of his statistics last season, but his drop from eight touchdowns to zero was the most dramatic and impactful to his 2022 season. That regression significantly impacted his ceiling, as Johnson failed to exceed 20 fantasy points in any game last season.

Despite the impact to his ceiling, Johnson’s floor remained steady. He saw a minimum of five targets in all but one game. Kenny Pickett should improve with a full year of play, and Johnson will continue to see a steady stream of targets with an increase in receptions and touchdowns.

Johnson’s ceiling is limited while sharing targets with George Pickens on a team that should have a strong run game. Still, Johnson should regularly hit double-digit fantasy points, giving him a solid floor at an excellent ADP.
