Yusei Kikuchi Under 6.5 Strikeouts

Yusei Kikuchi has been pitching very well over the last month. In his last five starts, he has allowed just four earned runs and has walked eight batters. He has also struck out more than six batters in two of those five starts, yet we don’t like this line for him tonight against the Phillies.

The Phillies have the seventh-most strikeouts in baseball. However, Kikuchi doesn’t have a high ceiling, no matter how well he has pitched lately. The most strikeouts he has thrown in a game this season is nine, which he accomplished all the way back on April 15. Kikuchi can strike out seven or eight batters, but because he’s always hovering around this number and has not blown it away this season, we like the under.
