The MLB DFS main slate is six games at DraftKings and FanDuel tonight. However, the slates are different. The one at DK starts at 7:05 pm ET and includes the Reds at the Angels. And the one at FD doesn’t have the late game and instead starts at 6:40 pm ET with the Rockies at the Rays. The picks for today’s unique slates are narrowed to three starting pitchers, one stack, three studs and three values/punts.

Wednesday's Starting Pitcher Strategy
Many notable pitchers are taking the bump tonight. However, they all have warts. As a result, the top option is risky but appealing because of his home splits and the discount he provides from the highest-salaried starting pitchers on the slate. And the second and third-ranked pitchers have a few redeeming qualities to separate them from the other flawed options.
Cash Game Recommendations:
Charlie Morton (ATL) vs. NYM
Morton's lousy control is a risk tonight. Yet, the righty's numbers at home are worth betting on. According to FanGraphs, in 68.1 innings at home this year, he has a 3.56, 3.70 xFIP, 1.30 WHIP, 9.9 BB% and 27.3 K%.
Additionally, the betting info is a mixed bag. Per Betting Pros, the game's total is 10.0 runs. So, that's suboptimal for Morton's outlook. Yet, the Braves are -200.
Jose Urquidy (HOU) vs. BOS
In Urquidy's previous three appearances (two starts) spanning 10.1 innings, he's had a 5.23 ERA, 3.60 xFIP, 1.06 WHIP, 7.1 BB%, 26.2 K%, 105 Stuff+, 103 Location+ and 107 Pitching+. The ERA wasn't eye-catching, but Urquidy's underlying data was decent.
He also has useful numbers at home in his career, especially for his tiny salary. In 187.1 inning at home in his career, Urquidy has a 3.80 ERA, 4.20 xFIP, 1.08 WHIP, 5.4 BB% and 22.9 K%.
The matchup is decent for Urquidy tonight, too. The Red Sox are tied for 17th in wRC+ (99) and have a 21.7 K% in the previous 30 days. And Boston is 18th in wRC+ (94) and has a 23.2 K% on the road this year. Finally, the Astros are -120, and the game's total is 9.0 runs. Therefore, Urquidy is a nifty pick at his small salary.
GPP Recommendation:
MacKenzie Gore (WAS) at NYY
Gore is in adequate form lately. In his previous five starts spanning 27.1 innings, he's had a 3.62 ERA, 4.25 xFIP, 1.13 WHIP, 10.3 BB%, 25.2 K% and 26.9 CSW%. The lefty's 4.25 xFIP wasn't anything special. Yet, if Gore can work around his free passes or avoid issuing too many tonight, he can tie up the slumping Yankees.
In the previous 30 days, the Bronx Bombers are tied for 20th in wRC+ (96) and have a 24.9 K%. They're also just 19th in wRC+ (97) and have a 22.0 K% at home this season.
Top Lineup Stacks
The Braves rip the cover off the ball against southpaws, ranking first in wRC+ (137) and ISO (.244) in 2023. Atlanta is also first in wRC+ (138) and ISO (.229) in the previous 30 days. And they're second in wRC+ (126) and first in ISO (.235) at home this year.
The Braves should lay the would to a lucky lefty tonight. Jose Quintana's 3.03 ERA in six starts this year was much better than his 4.18 xERA and 5.08 xFIP. So, let the regression begin tonight.
- Austin Riley has had a .359 OBP, .255 ISO and 142 wRC+ in 423 plate appearances against lefties since 2021.
- In 442 plate appearances against southpaws since 2021, Jose Altuve has had a .374 OBP, .230 ISO and 151 wRC+.
- Marcell Ozuna is dialed in. In his previous 111 plate appearances, he has had a .320 ISO and 166 wRC+.
- Brandon Belt has 13 homers, a .378 OBP, .229 ISO and 140 wRC+ in 315 plate appearances against right-handed pitchers in 2023.
- Vaughn Grissom has a 114 wRC+ in 81 plate appearances against lefties in the majors.
- Yainer Diaz is in good form. In his previous 83 plate appearances, he's had a .337 OBP, .380 ISO and 179 wRC+.
Wednesday's Hitter Strategy
The Braves have the most appealing stack on tonight's small slate in all game types.
