Matthew Stafford struggling to gel with younger teammates

Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford‘s wife, Kelly, said on her podcast “The Morning After With Kelly Stafford” that her husband has struggled to connect with his younger teammates, unsure of how to interact with them and connect.

Fantasy Impact

This shouldn’t be overreacted to as it’s just a sign of Stafford trying to be a leader, but the 35-year-old QB is facing an influx of youth on the roster. Stafford is heading into his 15th season in the NFL and is returning from an injury-abbreviated year. He is going as the fantasy QB22 this season, and while he was QB5 in 2021, it’s hard to have optimism in the Rams this year.

Joshua Dobbs the favorite to start Week 1 for Arizona

Joshua Dobbs is currently the favorite to start Week 1 against Washington.

Fantasy Impact

Dobbs was recently acquired from the Browns and is familiar with the offensive system in Arizona having played under OC Drew Petzing last season. Even if Dobbs earns the starting job for Week 1, the Cardinals could move to rookie Clayton Tune at any point before Kyler Murray returns from the PUP list.

Alexander Mattison active as reciever in camp

Alexander Mattison was extremely active as a receiver in training camp. It’s also noted in the report that the coaching staff is fully committed to Mattison being “the guy.”

Fantasy Impact

After Dalvin Cooks’s release, Mattison was the clear RB1 in Minnesota. He might not be the talent Cook is, but receiving work is never a bad thing for a running back, providing a stable floor and a high ceiling. He’s a solid RB2 for fantasy rosters.

C.J. Stroud announced as Week 1 starter

C.J. Stroud was officially announced as the Texans’ Week 1 starter.

Fantasy Impact

Stroud had a decent performance in the three games that he played in this preseason. He has shown multiple flashes of what is to come this year. The 21-year-old should be drafted very early in dynasty formats, and with the talent he has around him, he could be a solid waiver pickup down the stretch in deeper redraft leagues.
