Fantasy Football Injury Outlook: Zach Ertz, Brock Purdy, Jameson Williams (2023)

Here is the NFL Preseason Week 2 edition of the injury round-up. I will first cover the new (fantasy-relevant) injuries and finish with some updates on players who were on last week’s list. The biggest scares we had this week were Amon-Ra St. Brown and Treylon Burks, but they seem to have both come out OK. Here are all of our injuries to know for this weekend. Below is our take on a few notable players.

Fantasy Football Injury Round-Up

Zach Ertz (TE – ARI)

As of Aug. 14, Zach Ertz was fully cleared. The expectation is that he is ready for Week 1. As with most ACLs, expect him to start slowly and hit a good stride by mid-season. Watch for any soft tissue injuries during the ramp-up to the regular season.

Concern level: Moderate

Brock Purdy (QB – SF)

Brock Purdy underwent an internal brace procedure. Has been ramping up with his throwing program throughout the offseason. He is fully cleared for throwing now and should be good to go by Week 1 as the 49ers starting QB.

Concern level: Low

Jameson Williams (WR – DET)

Jameson Williams suffered a hamstring strain on Aug. 16. It’s not something to worry about due to his six-game suspension. He will be fully recovered by the time he is ready to play. Although it is slightly concerning that he is missing practice reps and probably needs them.

Concern level: low
