Jelani Woods placed on IR Wednesday

The Colts have placed TE Jelani Woods on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Impact

Woods reportedly aggravated the hamstring injury recently and will now be required to miss the Colts’ first four games. The 24-year-old tallied 312 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 25 receptions in 15 games last season. Mo Allie-Cox and Kylen Granson should see additional snaps at tight end in Woods’ absence.

Zach Ertz (knee) uncertain for Week 1

Zach Ertz, who was eyeing a Week 1 return from a torn ACL and MCL, is unsure if he will be ready to make a Week 1 return against the Commanders.

Fantasy Impact

Ertz suffered a severe injury in mid-November of the 2022 season, and despite reports that he would be good to go for Week 1, Ertz himself indicated Wednesday that might not be the case. The 32-year-old TE wants to see how his body recovers from consecutive practice days, among other factors, before confirming his Week 1 availability. If Ertz does miss time, Trey McBride will be in line to see an increase in targets.

Joe Burrow (calf) returns to practice Wednesday

Joe Burrow returned to Bengals practice on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact

Burrow is on track to be fully healthy for Week 1 as was expected after suffering a scare earlier in the offseason.
