Jaxon Smith-Njigba (wrist) returns to practice Tuesday

Jaxon Smith-Njigba (wrist) made his return to Seattle’s practice on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact

Smith-Njigba recently underwent a surgery to fix a fracture in his wrist, and he already made his return to practice on Tuesday. The exact timeline for his recovery is unclear at this point, but between him avoiding IR and him being back at practice ahead of schedule, it looks like he will be back sooner rather than later. That’s obviously good news for fantasy managers of the rookie, but it could mean less volume for DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett if he’s back in the near future.

Joe Burrow: Practice status for upcoming week uncertain

Joe Burrow, who is recovering from a calf strain, may practice this week. Bengals HC Zac Taylor said “We’ll see” when asked about his return to the practice field.

Fantasy Impact

Taylor clarified that Burrow’s looming contract extension is not a factor in his practice status, but the team will want to be as careful as possible with their superstar QB. Burrow suffered a calf injury about a month ago and is questionable for Week 1 against the Browns. If the QB gets in any practice before Week 1, he will be in great shape to play.

Jerry Jeudy won’t be put on short-term IR

Jerry Jeudy will not be put on short-term injured reserve.

Fantasy Impact

General manager George Paton said that three players will make the active roster then be place on short-term IR, but Jerry Jeudy will not be one of them. He will stay on the team’s active roster, which is a good sign that he will be back sometime within the next few weeks. Until he’s back, rookie Marvin Mims projects to get more work in his absence.
