NFL football is finally back. And yes, the preseason counts as real football. The news. The stories. The starters playing one series. The backups vying for roster spots. The veterans clinging to their football lives playing deep into games. The rookies getting their first taste of real action. It’s all so beautiful. And when it comes to preseason DFS, all of that stuff matters. As DBro says, “preseason DFS is gawd’s game.”
Preseason DFS may be for the true degens, but it’s also for those trying to cash in on soft lines from DFS sites. And if you’re following our NFL News Desk and chatting with experts like DBro in the FantasyPros Discord, you’ll have all the information you need to gain an edge over the other degens. In this series of articles, we’re providing our top targets from every team, for every matchup throughout the preseason. In addition to the picks we’re providing, be sure to check out DBro’s Guide to NFL Preseason DFS for help determining your overall strategy.

Browns vs. Eagles NFL Preseason DFS Picks
Cleveland Browns Targets
Dorian Thompson-Robinson (QB – CLE)
Dorian Thompson-Robinson (DTR) will receive the start Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles. He has been solid this preseason, completing 17 of his 21 passes for 184 yards while adding 47 rushing yards on nine carries. The Cleveland Browns trust him more by having him start over veteran Kellen Mond. With Joshua Dobbs not suiting up again, he should receive a half or more under center to provide you a Konami Code to your DFS lineup.
Tillman has tallied four targets so far this preseason. With Elijah Moore, Marquise Goodwin and Jaelon Darden all banged up and dealing with injuries; Cedric Tillman could see more opportunity in this preseason game. Tillman’s stature is something we love to target as he stands 6’3 and weighs 213 lbs. Tillman’s athleticism and size make him an excellent target in DFS Showdown.
Although his teammate Demetric Felton had a better second preseason game, my target will be John Kelly Jr in a game that could see inclement weather. Kelly is 5’10 and weighs 216 lbs. His game has flashes of former Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt. Kelly also received the goal line carry last week. With his size, similarity to a familiar back in the offense, and high-value attempts, take the swing on John Kelly Jr.
Browns Defense
All defenses are on the board. Keep an eye on the weather because if the winds are calm and the rain stays away, then kickers will be helpful too.
Philadelphia Eagles Targets
Eagles Defense
My rule: Pressures + Sacks= Turnover
Turnover= Points
No team has done that better since 2022 than the Philadelphia Eagles. With Kellen Mond due to see some time and a year rookie in DTR starting the game, the Eagles could capitalize and bring valuable points to your DFS lineup.
Rashaad Penny & Trey Sermon (RB – PHI)
In 2022, the Cleveland Browns were one of the worst run defenses in the league. The Browns allowed the fifth most rushing yards, third most rushing touchdowns and the sixth higher fantasy points per game to the running back position. With Gainwell gaining steam in the offseason and Swift running with the ones to start the game last week, Penny and Sermon are battling for one of the running back positions. Take a swing on one, if not both, especially if the game plays out in bleak weather. If Penny is inactive, Sermon could see plenty of second-half work in this one.
