Amari Cooper left practice with ‘minor tweak’

Amari Cooper is considered day-to-day after leaving Cleveland’s practice early on Sunday due to a ‘minor tweak’.

Fantasy Impact

Cooper sustained a minor tweak of some kind during Sunday’s practice, but it’s not thought to be a serious issue and he’s considered day-to-day for now. GM Andrew Berry noted that the injury is not related to the core surgery he had earlier this off-season, and fantasy managers shouldn’t be putting much weight into this news unless the injury persists longer than expected.

Kadarius Toney doesn’t practice Sunday

Kadarius Toney was held out of practice Sunday, allowing Skyy Moore, Justyn Ross, and Richie James to get additional reps and attention on the first day of Kansas City’s training camp. According to Pete Sweeney of Arrowhead Pride, he injured his knee fielding punts prior to the start of practice.

Fantasy Impact

The severity of this injury is unknown, but this is not a great start to training camp given Toney’s injury history and the need to build rapport with his quarterback. Toney is the highest-ranked Chiefs WR according to FantasyPros ECR, but it’s yet to be determined who will be Patrick Mahomes‘ primary target from the receiving corp and likely second in the pecking order behind TE Travis Kelce. Toney has a lengthy injury history and needs to stay healthy in order to lead this crowded wide receiver room.

Jimmy Garoppolo passes physical, avoids PUP list to start training camp

Jimmy Garoppolo has passed his physical and will be cleared for Raiders training camp. Quarterbacks are set to report on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact

A healthy Garoppolo should help reassure fantasy managers that had any concerns about the Raiders’ offense with Brian Hoyer or Aidan O’Connell at quarterback. Since he is a lower-end QB2 according to FantasyPros ECR, this news is likely more important for Davante Adams‘ fantasy outlook than Garoppolo’s.
