Dynasty Trade Advice

Here are trade proposals based on our Dynasty Trade Value Chart. And here are who our analysts feel will win these trades.

Josh Jacobs or Cam Akers & Rondale Moore

Which side wins?

Team getting Josh Jacobs

  • Mike Maher
  • Derek Brown
  • Pat Fitzmaurice

Team getting Cam Akers & Rondale Moore

  • Andrew Erickson
  • Ryan Wormeli

Takeaways

As excited as I am about Cam Akers‘ chance to play a workhorse role for the Rams this year, and as much of a Rondale Moore truther as I am, I’d still prefer Jacobs to the Akers-Moore combo. At 25, Jacobs is squarely in the prime of his career and is the NFL’s reigning rushing king. He’s a productive pass catcher, too. The threat of a holdout is slightly unnerving, but it’s clear that Jacobs will play a huge role once he reports to the Raiders, and he figures to be a lead RB wherever he might land in 2024. Akers had a nice stretch run last year, but it was a small sample size, and it came after the Rams had marginalized him early in the season. There’s just a much lower degree of certainty with Akers than with Jacobs. And as much as I’d like to believe that Moore is still the same electrifying playmaker he was during his college career at Purdue, he’s basically just a dynasty dart throw at this point, and he doesn’t bridge the gap between Jacobs and Akers.

Josh Jacobs or Rachaad White & Marvin Mims

Which side wins?

Team getting Josh Jacobs

  • Mike Maher
  • Derek Brown
  • Pat Fitzmaurice

Team getting Rachaad White & Marvin Mims

  • Andrew Erickson
  • Ryan Wormeli

Takeaways

Workhorse RBs are becoming an increasingly rare species, so if I’m lucky enough to have one, it’s going to take generous compensation if you want to pry him away from me. This isn’t quite generous enough compensation for Jacobs. It seems as if White is in line for a big role in Tampa this season, and I think his productivity as a pass catcher (and pass blocker) will earn him ample playing time in the years to come, but he’s not on Jacobs’ level. Mims is an intriguing WR prospect but not a sure thing.

Josh Jacobs or Jameson Williams & Khalil Herbert

Which side wins?

Team getting Josh Jacobs

  • Derek Brown
  • Pat Fitzmaurice

Team getting Jameson Williams & Khalil Herbert

  • Andrew Erickson
  • Ryan Wormeli
  • Mike Maher

Takeaways

Jameson Williams could prove to be as electrifying a playmaker as he was at the University of Alabama, so I may regret going with Jacobs here. But again, workhorse RBs are a rare and valuable breed, and for me to part with one, I want proven talent in return. Jameson hasn’t proven he can do it at the NFL level yet, and we’ll have to wait until midseason to see him since he’ll serve a six-game gambling suspension. Herbert seems destined to be a committee back, sharing work with D’Onta Foreman and Roschon Johnson. Herbert is a promising runner but not a great pass catcher, and QB Justin Fields is destined to poach some short-range TD runs from his RBs. Give me Jacobs, a true workhorse RB who’s squarely in the prime of his career.

-Pat Fitzmaurice
