Dynasty Trade Advice

Here are trade proposals based on our Dynasty Trade Value Chart. And here are who our analysts feel will win these trades.

Calvin Ridley or Christian Kirk

Which side wins?

Team getting Calvin Ridley

  • Derek Brown
  • Joe Pisapia
  • Ryan Wormeli
  • Andrew Erickson

Team getting Christian Kirk

  • Mike Maher
  • Pat Fitzmaurice

Takeaways

Which Jacksonville WR should we prefer in dynasty? Calvin Ridley enthusiasm is running rampant in some quarters of the FantasyPros family. I don’t have quite the same level of zeal for Ridley that a few of my colleagues have.

Sure, it’s possible Ridley picks up where he left off after not playing an NFL game in nearly two years. But we saw Deshaun Watson struggle last season after being out of the NFL for nearly two years. Maybe it will be easier for a wide receiver, who doesn’t have quite as much to process as a quarterback. Or maybe it will be a tough readjustment for Ridley, too. And is it fair to wonder about Ridley’s commitment to football after foolishly getting himself suspended for gambling? I think it is.

Kirk is two years younger than Ridley and coming off an 1,100-yard, eight-TD season. I slightly prefer the 26-year-old Kirk to the 28-year-old Ridley.

-Pat Fitzmaurice

Calvin Ridley or Zach Charbonnet

Which side wins?

Team getting Calvin Ridley

  • Derek Brown
  • Joe Pisapia
  • Ryan Wormeli
  • Andrew Erickson

Team getting Zach Charbonnet

  • Mike Maher
  • Pat Fitzmaurice

Takeaways

As mentioned earlier, I have some concerns about Ridley. Even if he quickly returns to his old form, how many years of peak production will the 28-year-old Ridley have left?

I hate that Charbonnet is probably going to be tethered to fellow Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker for the first few years of his NFL career, but Charbonnet has an appealing prospect profile and won’t have to share a backfield with Walker forever. I’ll take the talented rookie RB over the talented but mercurial veteran WR.

-Pat Fitzmaurice

Calvin Ridley or Roschon Johnson & Jayden Reed

Which side wins?

Team getting Calvin Ridley

  • Mike Maher
  • Andrew Erickson
  • Derek Brown
  • Joe Pisapia
  • Ryan Wormeli

Team getting Roschon Johnson & Jayden Reed

  • Pat Fitzmaurice

Takeaways

Looks like my colleagues are all on the other side of this one, but I prefer the rookie combo platter.

Ridley is coming off a nearly two-year hiatus and at 28 is already at late-prime age. When he’s healthy and motivated, he’s a terrific receiver, no question. But he only has one 1,000-yard season in the bank.

Reed and Johnson are fascinating prospects. Reed is an explosive playmaker who was taken 53rd overall in this year’s draft. Green Bay has the youngest set of pass catchers in the league, and Reed will have a good chance to work his way into the mix immediately. Johnson backed up Bijan Robinson at the University of Texas but is a fine prospect in his own right — a power runner who endears himself to coaches with his toughness and willingness to do whatever’s asked of him. Johnson will probably be a committee back, but he’s built for goal-line duty and has appealing TD upside.

-Pat Fitzmaurice

Hopefully, this can help you as you navigate the trade waters of your dynasty fantasy football league.
