Elly De La Cruz Over 7.5 Hitter Fantasy Score
If you’re thinking this pick is based on the raging Elly hype train right now, you would be correct. I am hugely in (and have been) on De La Cruz, and his numbers since the call-up last week have been nothing short of stellar. The 21-year-old has exceeded his hitter fantasy score line in four of his first five outings, and he has quickly become the electric cleanup bat for Cincinnati.
The rookie facing a man 20 years older than him in a declining state leads me to believe we could see some more fireworks from De La Cruz on Sunday. Adam Wainwright has posted a measly 5.97 ERA across six appearances in 2023, and he has already allowed 45 hits on the year. De La Cruz already looks like a hitter beyond his years, and that ridiculous exit velocity of his could be fully on display in today’s afternoon showing. Just be wary of the chance of rain in St. Louis on Sunday, which could affect the game as of this morning.
