Saquon Barkley absent from start of mandatory minicamp
According to Paul Schwartz of The New York Post, New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley is not present at the start of the Giants’ first day of mandatory minicamp.
Fantasy Impact
Because Barkley hasn’t signed his tender for his franchise tag, he is not technically required to attend mandatory minicamp as he is not under contract. He had already expressed he would not be in attendance as the two sides figure out contract details on a potential long-term deal. Barkley reportedly isn’t ruling out the possibility of a holdout. If he does indeed hold out, the Giants would have to turn toward veteran RB Matt Breida, rookie RB Eric Gray or maybe a veteran free agent.

DeAndre Hopkins visiting Patriots Wednesday, Thursday
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the New England Patriots will be meeting with free agent WR DeAndre Hopkins on Wednesday and Thursday following his productive meeting with the Tennessee Titans.
Fantasy Impact
In regard to the prospect of Hopkins joining the team, Bill Belichick was classically non-committal and vague, but QB Mac Jones expressed more excitement at the hypothetical union. The Patriots haven’t had a WR who was their clear No. 1 since Julian Edelman left and haven’t pursued any big names since Randy Moss. With Jakobi Meyers pursuing new things in Las Vegas, the Patriots could have a completely revamped offensive crew with Hopkins, JuJu Smith-Schuster and new OC Bill O’Brien.

Dalvin Cook in no rush, wants team who values him
Free agent RB Dalvin Cook said he is in no rush to sign with a team and that he wants to find the right fit. He added that he wants to find a team that values him as an athlete that will let him play good football and contribute to wins.
Fantasy Impact
Cook was released Saturday but is willing to take his time to find the right fit for him. After receiving offseason shoulder surgery, Cook is cleared from a torn labrum that has plagued him for years. Finally healthy, Cook has his options open and can pick what he thinks is best for him. The Pro Bowl back had a down year in efficiency in 2022 but still had 1,468 total yards.
