Fantasy Football Mock Draft: 2QB (2023 Fantasy Football)

Fantasy Football Mock Draft: 2QB (2023 Fantasy Football)

For the wide array of different types of leagues, you should have different draft strategies. Making sure you know the type of lineup and scoring system in your league gives you a chance for the optimal roster.

For this mock draft, we will be looking into a 2QB league. You want to make sure you find that balance between grabbing multiple quarterbacks that you can rely on weekly but not forgetting about your other positions. Practice makes perfect, and the best way to prepare is by using our free Draft Wizard Mock Draft Simulator.

For this draft, I didn’t want to draft in the top 5 because we know that in this type of format, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and Jalen Hurts are easy picks.

2023 Two-QB Mock Draft

1.09 – Saquon Barkley (RB – NYG)

Barkley, Bijan Robinson. Travis Kelce and Lamar Jackson were my top suggested choices. I can go Lamar and get my top quarterback early, but I decided that Barkley’s pass-catching ability is too hard to pass up in a PPR.

2.04 – Joe Burrow (QB – CIN)

Right there, still available, is Burrow. I got my QB1

3.09 – Mark Andrews (TE – BAL)

I have a couple more good QBs in Justin Herbert, Deshaun Watson, and Trevor Lawrence, if I want to get my starters out of the way early. Andrews is there along with Garrett Wilson to get my first pass catcher, or I can load up on RBs and get Travis Etienne.

I want my elite tight end, so Andrews is my choice.

4.04 – Chris Olave (WR – NO)

The reason why I went with the tight end with the previous pick is because I saw Olave, and he’s a receiver I’m very high on this season. He’s coming off a 1,000+ receiving yard rookie year and is now paired with Derek Carr. He has top-10 talent in my mind.

5.09 – DJ Moore (WR – CHI)

The first four of my top choices were RBs (Jahmyr Gibbs, J.K. Dobbins, Miles Sanders, Dameon Pierce,) followed by Deebo Samuel and Moore.

I looked further down the line of RBs, and there are a couple I liked that I know I could grab later. Moore is the clear WR1 in Chicago and potentially has 100 catches, you want that in PPR, especially if I’m getting that in the 5th.

6.04 – Derek Carr (QB – NO)

I’m a fan of stacking in any format. You’re guaranteed a deep playoff run if you can find Matthew Stafford/Cooper Kupp, Burrow/Ja’Marr Chase, or Kirk Cousins/Justin Jefferson. I see Carr/Olave having that potential this year.

Carr has had 20+ touchdowns every year of his career and 3,900+ passing in seven of nine. Although some think 2022 was a down year, he still made Davante Adams the WR5.

7.09 – Dameon Pierce (RB – HOU)

I saw Pierce as an option in the fifth, and I didn’t believe he would still be around at this point.

I like his pairing with C.J. Stroud. Stroud is not a heavy runner like some of the other rookie quarterbacks, and he gave Ohio State RB TreVeyon Henderson 29 targets in 2021, and Pierce showed his ability in the passing game with 39 targets. That number will surge in 2023.

8.04 – Jerry Jeudy (WR – DEN)

Dalvin Cook, David Montgomery, and James Connor were the top choices. Even if I didn’t just go running back, I wasn’t interested. Dallas Goedert and Kyle Pitts were there if I wanted a second TE, but I saw others that I liked later on.

This will be a better year for Denver, with Sean Payton heading up this team, and Jeudy is still the top receiver in this offense.

Draft Wizard

9.09 – Desmond Ridder (QB – ATL)

In a 2QB league, it’s always best to have insurance. I looked at the final quarterbacks available, and there was only one left who I know has the job in Week 1. If I had gone further, I would have been stuck with a backup or someone in a competition.

Ridder is certainly no consolation prize. The potential with Drake London, Kyle Pitts, and Bijan Robinson, adding a full training camp of first-team reps will significantly help.

10.04 – Alexander Mattison (RB – MIN)

All my starters are locked in, and now it’s time to find sleepers and value picks.

Looking through some of my choices, wide receiver had some guys I liked that I could take later, same with tight end. I considered James Cook, Brian Robinson Jr., and Aj Dillion, but Mattison provided the most upside as a three-down back.

11.09 – AJ Dillon (RB – GB)

Dillion was still around, and although he and Aaron Jones split the backfield, there are weeks when he can go off. Again, I don’t have him as a projected starter, so it’s nice to have a guy who we know can go on hot streaks.

12.04 _ Evan Engram (TE – JAC)

Still a good collection of solid running backs available, but I won’t do three picks in a row. Some interesting choices at wide receiver, like Allen Lazard, who can get hot early with his already built-in chemistry with Rodgers, but down this far, I didn’t think Engram would still be available.

When he plays, he balls and finished as the TE5 last year. Now I have two of last year’s top five PPR tight ends on my team.

13.09 – Romeo Doubs (WR – GB)

This is where I went to look up another receiver. Donovan Peoples-Jones was a choice, but when I looked at his game log, I saw his targets dipped with Watson as the quarterback.

Doubs looks to be the number two guy in Green Bay, and we’ll see how this offense develops with Jordan Love.

Again, starters are locked, this is looking for potential sleepers.

14.04 – Raheem Mostert (RB – MIA)

My best choices here were more tight ends and some San Fransisco RBs not named Christian McCaffrey.

I saw Mostert, and there is the potential of Kendre Miller becoming a favorite in Miami, but then again, has there ever been a feature back in a Mike McDaniels offense? He knows Mostert, and he has confidence in him. I know he’s injury-prone, but we’re deep enough at the position that if he’s out, we’re not screwed.

15.09 – Wan’Dale Robinson (WR – NYG)

I saw Robinson, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. There’s a solid group of pass catchers for the Giants, and Robinson has the playmaker ability.

In the game against Detroit, where he was injured and ended his season, he already had 13 targets and nine catches, the second time he had eight or more targets in the last three games.

16.04 – Eagles Defense

Two picks left. Defense and kicker time. Although the Eagles lost some guys, they still have some stellar players up front and in the secondary. No problem being a top-five defense again this year.

17.09 – Graham Gano (K – NYG)

Gano has converted 91.7% of his field goals with the Giants, and his 32 XP nearly doubled 2021’s total. We’re seeing the Giants’ offense improve, and Gano will continue to sweep up the points.
