While we lament the loss of Jacob deGrom (SP – TEX) for another year-and-a-half, we are excited about the return of Triston McKenzie (SP – CLE) last week and, to a lesser extent, Aaron Civale (SP – CLE) and Mike Clevinger (SP – CWS). In addition, the Dodgers expect Julio Urias (SP – LAD) to return on Sunday, and thus, he returns to our rankings. Below are our top-50 starters for next week based on ability, matchups, number of scheduled starts, and momentum.
The rankings below are for the week beginning Monday, June 12.

Top-50 Starting Pitcher Rankings: Week 11
For those new to this column, our planning starts with the rest-of-season Expert Consensus Rankings (ECR) and is adjusted based on FantasyPros’ Pitcher Planner and their season-to-date statistics. As rotations change frequently, double-check the planner before setting your lineup. The complete top 50 is below, but first, let’s review some of next week’s more intriguing matchups.
Two-Start Starters with Matchups We Love
Our top dog this week is Spencer Strider (SP – ATL), who is not only tremendous but gets Detroit on the road and the Rockies at home, as does his teammate, Charlie Morton (SP – ATL). Pablo Lopez (SP – MIN) gets a massive ranking bump thanks to slated starts against the Brewers and Tigers at home. Tampa’s Zach Eflin (SP – TB) has been sneaky good this season. He’ll face the A’s in Oakland and the Padres in San Diego, which isn’t as tough a matchup as we thought it would be pre-season.
Two-Start Starters with Matchups We Hate
We like Logan Webb (SP – SF) and love that he has two starts next week. However, we aren’t pleased that both will be on the road vs. the Cardinals and Dodgers. Chris Bassitt (SP – TOR) also has two road games on tap. First, he’ll square off against the Orioles in Baltimore, then travel to Arlington, Texas, where he’ll face the red-hot Rangers’ offense. Lance Lynn (SP – CWS) has had a disappointing 2023 thus far outside of a still excellent 10.16 K/9. However, we wouldn’t blame you if you bench him against the Dodgers and Mariners on the road next week.
One-Start Starters with Matchups We Love
Rays’ teammates Tyler Glasnow (SP – TB) and Taj Bradley (SP – TB) should benefit from their upcoming matchups against the Athletics in Oakland. Similarly, the Twins’ duo of Joe Ryan (SP – MIN) and Sonny Gray (SP – MIN) get the divisional-rival and offensively-challenged Tigers in Minneapolis. A third member of Minnesota’s rotation, Bailey Ober (SP – MIN), also has a plum matchup at home against the Brewers, who really struggle to score runs on the road.
One-Start Starters with Matchups We Hate
Shohei Ohtani (SP – LAA) and Kevin Gausman (SP – TOR), two of this season’s top fantasy starters, will take on the Rangers in Texas next week. These guys are auto-starts, but it’s a matchup to dread. Dylan Cease (SP – CWS), who has struggled with walks this year, will have to face the patient Dodgers in L.A. Don’t expect him to pitch deep into that game.
