Two more top pitchers through the first months of the season were injured last week. Eduardo Rodriguez, who has been such a pleasant surprise this year, hit the Injured List last week with a finger injury. Justin Steele hasn’t officially been IL’d yet, but the southpaw is headed for an MRI on his forearm, which doesn’t sound good. Below are our top 50 starters for next week are listed below based on ability, matchups, and their number of scheduled starts. These rankings are for the week beginning Monday, June 5.

Top 50 Starting Pitcher Rankings: Week 10
Our planning starts with the Expert Consensus Rankings (ECR) and is adjusted based on FantasyPros’ Pitcher Planner and their season-to-date statistics. As rotations change frequently, double-check the planner before setting your lineup. The complete top 50 is below, but first, let’s review some of next week’s more intriguing matchups.
Two-Start Starters with the Worst Matchups
We love pitchers with two-starts in head-to-head and weekly leagues, but the blessing can become a curse when both matchups are rough. Hunter Greene is the only starter in our Top 50 with two brutal matchups. He’ll face the Dodgers at home and the Cardinals on the road. Tony Gonsolin has picked up where he left off last season since coming off the IL but will have to take on the Reds in Great American Ball Park and the Phillies at Citizen’s Bank Park in Philly. It’s not a brutal duo, but not a great one, either.
Two-Start Starters with Mixed Matchups
There aren’t any two-start starters with two excellent matchups next week, but several have one that looks promising and one that looks daunting. This list includes our top three hurlers, Shane McClanahan, Aaron Nola, and Kevin Gausman, who all get two home games next week. McClanahan begins the week against the Twins, who struggle to score on the road, but then will face the red-hot Rangers. Nola’s fantasy managers will eagerly anticipate his matchup against the Tigers but hold their breath when he meets the Dodgers. Gausman swing isn’t quite as dramatic. His first scheduled start is against the Astros, followed by the Twins on the weekend.
In addition to the studs, five more middle-of-the-pack starters will face up-and-down opponents next week. The struggling Alek Manoah gets the same schedule as Gausman, while Lucas Giolito will take on the Mets in New York and the Marlins at home. Hunter Brown will challenge the Jays in Toronto but then gets the Guardians in Cleveland, which is about as good as it gets this year. Thanks to their two scheduled starts, Miles Mikolas and Martin Perez cracked the Top 50 this week. Mikolas will take on the Rangers in Arlington before getting the Reds at home. Perez starts the week at home against the Cardinals, who aren’t the same offense on the road, before going to Tampa, which isn’t easy.
Solo-Start Starters with the Best Matchups
Single-start starters who get significant boosts this week due to their opponent include Zac Gallen, Zack Wheeler, Dylan Cease, Chris Sale, Jesus Luzardo, and Mitch Keller. Gallen and Wheeler get the Tigers, with Gallen’s outing coming on the road. Sale will take on the Guardians in Cleveland, while Luzardo, Keller, and Cease get home dates vs. the Royals, A’s, and Marlins, respectively.
Solo-Start Starters with the Worst Matchups
On the flip side, fantasy managers with Yu Darvish, Logan Webb, Pablo Lopez, Nathan Eovaldi, and Alex Cobb will have to hold their breath this week. These five starts fall into two buckets: Coors Field and the Rays at the Trop. Darvish, Webb, and Cobb travel to Denver, while Eovaldi and Lopez take on the mighty Rays.
