Top Fantasy Baseball Prospects to Stash
Graduates from the last Stash List: Taj Bradley, Jordan Walker, Matthew Liberatore
Other Debuts: Elly De La Cruz, Bryan Woo, AJ Smith-Shawver, Luken Baker, Andrew Abbott
1. Colton Cowser (OF – BAL)
Colton Cowser has been one of the hottest hitters in the Minors. Even a quad injury couldn’t keep him down long. Cowser’s days are numbered in Triple-A, and he will join the red-hot Orioles soon.
2. Christian Encarnacion-Strand (1B – CIN)
Christian Encarnacion-Strand has a hyper-aggressive approach but big power. He has never hit below .296 at any MILB stop despite being aggressive. Encarnacion-Strand is slashing .349/.408/.711 with 15 home runs in 39 Triple-A games. The Reds have been aggressive with their prospects, and CES should be next.
3. Ronny Mauricio (SS – NYM)
The Mets moving Ronny Mauricio to second base shows they are serious about him being part of the team soon. Mauricio has big power and speed and has shown an improved feel to hit this year.
4. Gavin Williams (SP – CLE)
Gavin Williams looks like one of the best pitching prospects in baseball. His fastball sits in the upper 90s, and he touches 101. He brings good secondaries as well. Williams has a 1.93 ERA in 51.1 innings this year with 71 strikeouts.
5. Jordan Westburg (INF – BAL)
Jordan Westburg has been one of the best hitters in the minors this year. He is slashing .308/.387/.601 with 15 home runs and five stolen bases. The Orioles have been non-committal about bringing him up, but it is just a matter of time until he forces their hand.
6. Kyle Manzardo (1B – TB)
Kyle Manzardo is hitting the ball harder than ever and still making high-end contact. He has set a new max exit velocity this season by nearly four mph. Manzardo has a unique blend of contact and power.
7. Ben Brown (SP – CHC)
Pitching prospects are being promoted at a faster rate than ever. Ben Brown could be next. The Cubs rotation is currently full, but Brown is the next man up. He has a 2.63 ERA in 48 innings with 70 strikeouts.
8. Bo Naylor (C – CLE)
Cleveland’s catching situation is a nightmare, and Bo Naylor has continued to rake in Triple-A. It is just a matter of time until he takes over in Cleveland.
9. Oscar Colas (OF – CWS)
Oscar Colas made the White Sox out of Spring Training and struggled, but since his demotion has been raking. He has significantly cut his chase and strikeout rates and is slashing .301/.385/.425.
10. Justyn-Henry Malloy ( OF – DET)
Justyn-Henry Malloy may be the spark the Tigers’ offense needs. He is slashing .268/.407/.449 with nine home runs in Triple-A. Malloy has nothing left to prove in the Minors. We will see him in Detroit soon.
