MLB is back in full swing! Our friends at OwnersBox have us covered for the entire MLB season with two exciting and unique DFS games to choose from: SuperFlex Salary Cap and Lightning Lineups.
SuperFlex Salary Cap is a salary cap based MLB DFS contest with a unique twist. There is a “superflex” slot that allows you to start a player of any position. That’s right, including pitchers. Pick nine players while staying under the $50,000 salary cap. The potential addition of a second pitcher to lineups means more strategy, more potential edges, and, you guessed it, more fun and entertainment. Whether you are familiar with their offerings from other sports or not, this is a fun, new twist that all MLB DFS enthusiasts need to try out.
Lightning lineups are another fun and unique way to play MLB DFS. You start out presented with three lineup combinations. You can choose one of the three lineups to outscore the others, or you can add additional lineups to choose from (up to 10), increasing the multiplier in the process. If you do not like any of the lineups you see, simply tap the Lightning Lineup logo near the bottom of the screen to be presented with a new set of lineups to choose from. This is a contest I fell in love with during the NFL season and will be one of my preferred ways to play MLB DFS this season.

Top OwnersBox MLB Plays for 5.25.23
Christopher Morel (3B – CHC): $4,200
Christopher Morel has been the hottest player in the National League over the past two weeks with eight home runs, 14 RBI, 16 runs, and a .356 batting average. He is a hot play while he is playing so well regardless of opponent but gets a big bump due to facing off against a struggling Carlos Carrasco. Morel should be able to keep the good times rolling against Carrasco, who is currently sporting an unsightly 8.68 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, and a .260 BAA. Morel has just two previous plate appearances against Carrasco, reaching base once on a walk. Tap Morel for at least one of your OwnersBox lineups for the main slate.
Esteury Ruiz (OF – OAK): $3,700
Ruiz looks like one of the top values on the board for this evening’s slate despite dealing with a tougher matchup against the impressive Logan Gilbert. Gilbert has amassed just a 2-2 record in nine starts but is sporting a sparkling 3.81 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and a .218 BAA. However, Ruiz, who has eight fantasy points per game over his last three games overall, has two hits in three at-bats against Gilbert. Always a threat to accrue fantasy points on the base paths, Ruiz has five stolen bases in his last five games and 12 steals over his last 10 overall, a time period in which he hit a strong .293. Plug Ruiz into lineups wherever possible.
Michael Conforto (OF – SF): $3,600
Conforto has been cooking for the Giants, stacking 17 fantasy points in his last three games at OwnersBox. He has been one of the hottest hitters in the Majors over the last two weeks, posting six home runs, 14 RBI, and 10 runs with a .333 average. Conforto is expected to square off against Adrian Houser, who will be making his first start of the year. Houser has struggled in 2023, posting a 0-0 record with a 3.07 ERA but an exploitable 1.50 WHIP and .322 BAA in three starts. Tap Conforto if you are looking for an additional potential value option at outfield.
