MLB is back in full swing! Our friends at OwnersBox have us covered for the entire MLB season with two exciting and unique DFS games to choose from: SuperFlex Salary Cap and Lightning Lineups.
SuperFlex Salary Cap is a salary cap based MLB DFS contest with a unique twist. There is a “superflex” slot that allows you to start a player of any position. That’s right, including pitchers. Pick nine players while staying under the $50,000 salary cap. The potential addition of a second pitcher to lineups means more strategy, more potential edges, and, you guessed it, more fun and entertainment. Whether you are familiar with their offerings from other sports or not, this is a fun, new twist that all MLB DFS enthusiasts need to try out.
Lightning lineups are another fun and unique way to play MLB DFS. You start out presented with three lineup combinations. You can choose one of the three lineups to outscore the others, or you can add additional lineups to choose from (up to 10), increasing the multiplier in the process. If you do not like any of the lineups you see, simply tap the Lightning Lineup logo near the bottom of the screen to be presented with a new set of lineups to choose from. This is a contest I fell in love with during the NFL season and will be one of my preferred ways to play MLB DFS this season.

Top OwnersBox MLB Plays for 5.10.23
Salvador Perez (C – KC): $4,900
Perez has been one of the hottest hitters in the Majors over the last two weeks, racking up five home runs, 11 RBI, and 11 runs while hitting a robust .366 in 41 at-bats. It is not often that catchers are considered for daily lineups, but when a player is this hot, you roll with him, regardless of position. Perez has a solid matchup this evening with Lance Lynn toeing the rubber, a pitcher he has fared well against throughout his career. Perez has hit .304 over 25 plate appearances, amassing seven hits, two walks, two home runs, and one double. Despite racking up strikeouts, Lynn has been pummeled this season and comes into this contest with a 1-4 record and an unsightly 6.86 ERA, and a 1.53 WHIP. Tap Perez where possible.
Bobby Witt Jr. (3B/SS – KC): $5,100
Bobby Witt has been heating up over the last week, posting a .321 average with one home run, four RBI, six runs, and three stolen bases in 28 at-bats. His average has left much to be desired this season but is always a threat on the base paths, giving him the opportunity to provide extra fantasy points for those who plug him into their lineups at OwnersBox. WItt gets a struggling Lance Lynn this evening, a pitcher he has racked up a .333 average against in nine plate appearances. Of his three hits against Lynn, two left the yard. Witt deserves hard consideration for at least one of your OwnersBox lineups, especially with just six games on the main slate.
Cody Bellinger (OF – CHC): $4,600
Bellinger has been one of the top fantasy performers this season but is somehow tagged with a salary of just $4,600. He has seven home runs, 19 RBI, 28 runs, and nine stolen bases this season and is well on his way to a 25/25 or perhaps even a 30/30 season. Combine that with a .291 batting average, and we have a player who should be considered for lineups anytime he shows up on the main slate. Bellinger has one double in two at-bats against Jordan Montgomery in their previous meeting. Montgomery has been solid this season with a 3.29 ERA and 1.22 WHIP. He has been a true road warrior this season, allowing opponents a minuscule 0.89 ERA in three road starts. Starting Bellinger against Montgomery is not without its risks, but he is too good of a value to pass up and could be contrarian enough to ensure a unique lineup. Fire Bellinger up as an outfield option where needed.
