Batters to Target

  1. Eduardo Escobar (3B – NYM): Our top batter to target today is none other than Eduardo Escobar. Escobar has been on a tear when facing Drew Smyly of the Cubs, boasting a fantastic .571 AVG, 1.5 SLG, and an OPS of 2.125, including four homers and eight hits in just 14 at-bats. When considering his high on-base percentage and incredible slugging stats, Escobar seems to be a lock for your lineup.
  2. Christian Vazquez (C – MIN): Christian Vazquez is another batter to target for today’s matchups. His career numbers against Alex Cobb are excellent. With a stunning .632 AVG, .684 SLG, and an OPS of 1.334, he has 12 hits in 19 at-bats, providing a solid floor for fantasy production.
  3. James McCann (C – BAL): Another catcher with good stats against his opponent is James McCann. Facing Gerrit Cole, McCann maintains a .385 AVG, .846 SLG, and a strong 1.275 OPS. These statistics include five hits in 13 at-bats and one homer.

Batters to Avoid

  1. Mark Canha (OF – NYM): Canha should be on your avoid list for today. His record against Drew Smyly is not encouraging, managing just one hit in 12 at-bats with an AVG of .083 and a weak OPS of .237.
  2. Ryan Mountcastle (1B – BAL): Mountcastle also joins the list of batters to avoid for today’s slate. His stats against Gerrit Cole are quite poor, managing just a .176 AVG and an OPS of .498, including three hits and five strikeouts in 17 at-bats.
  3. Ramon Laureano (OF – OAK): Finally, Ramon Laureano’s track record against Marco Gonzales isn’t particularly impressive. With a .154 AVG, .308 SLG, and a .515 OPS, he’s managed only four hits and has eight strikeouts in 26 at-bats.

Pitchers to Target

  1. Jose Berrios (TOR): Berrios has performed well against the Tampa Bay lineup, conceding a .246 AVG and .566 OPS.
  2. Marco Gonzales (SEA): Gonzales holds a .222 AVG and .650 OPS against the Oakland Athletics.

Pitchers to Avoid

  1. Drew Smyly (CHC): SMyly holds a .277 AVG and .856 OPS against the Mets.
  2. Alex Cobb (SF): Cobb has an unimpressive .368 AVG and .896 OPS against the Twins.

Today’s MLB daily fantasy matchups present several opportunities to target and avoid specific batter vs. pitcher matchups. By leveraging projections and historical data and making informed decisions, you can optimize your FanDuel and DraftKings lineups for success. Good luck in your daily fantasy baseball contests!
