Tanks Bigsby impressed at rookie minicamp, showing off his skills as a pass catcher to go along with his natural between-the-tackles ability.

Fantasy Impact

The Jacksonville’s third round pick out of Auburn is showing early returns of investment, which is great news for them. However, it’s not great news for Travis Etienne, Jacksonvilles lead back. It’s unlikely that Bigsby takes the majority of the passing down work from Etienne, but he could siphon a few targets away from him. Jacksonville didn’t want to go into the season with Etienne as the unquestioned workhorse and needed to bring in another body. So far it looks Bigsby could fill in the No.2 role quite well.

Sam LaPorta wows at rookie minicamp

Sam LaPorta was “easily the best player on the field” during the rookie minicamp. He reportedly caught the most passes of anyone there, and also beat fellow rookie Jack Campbell during one-on-one drills.

Fantasy Impact

The Lions have needed a starting tight end since trading away TJ Hockenson to the Vikings back in 2022. LaPorta was drafted early in the second round to fill that hole, and he’s off to a promising start. Rookie tight ends are not the best of bets for fantasy, but the opportunity could be there for the young Lions tight end.
