Fantasy Baseball Players to Trade Now

What makes fantasy sports so much fun? All pseudo-GMs have their own specific answer to this question, but odds are high that most responses would deal with the fact that the landscape is always changing.

There’s always new data to explore and new opinions to be formed. Plus, the collective fantasy community is wrong on so much. If the consensus opinion on every player was always right, then there would be no reason to trade! We have some suggestions on what those moves could be, so stick around to see who he’s looking to trade for… or away.

In this video, Chris Welsh of FantasyPros offers an in-depth look at five players you should consider for trade in Week 6 of the 2023 Fantasy Baseball season. He discusses both players to acquire and those to trade away.

Here are the notable players and timestamps:

  • (00:30) Trade for: Brett Beatty (New York Mets, third baseman). Welsh praises Beatty’s hard hit percentage and potential upside.
  • (02:37) Trade away: George Kirby (Seattle Mariners, pitcher). Despite Kirby’s good ERA and decreased walk rate, Welsh points out the pitcher’s alarming decrease in strikeouts and suggests it might be a good time to cash out.
  • (04:17) Trade for: Zach Wheeler (Philadelphia Phillies, starting pitcher). Although Wheeler’s season has been mediocre, Welsh believes he shows signs of potential positive regression and is worth poking around for a trade.
  • (05:51) Trade away: Tommy Edmond (St. Louis Cardinals, shortstop/middle infielder). While Edmund has been performing his job well, Welsh points out several negative stats, including a drop in stolen bases and a lower expected batting average.
  • (07:56) Trade for: Julio Rodriguez (Seattle Mariners, outfielder). Despite a sophomore slump and some decrease in his stats, Welsh is optimistic about Rodriguez’s potential positive regression and suggests it might be the perfect time to trade for him.

The video ends with a call to action for viewers to comment on their own trade plans and a chance to win a premium FantasyPros account.
