Clayton Kershaw placed on bereavement list

Clayton Kershaw has been placed on the bereavement list as he leaves the team to be with his family following the death of his mother, Marianne Tombaugh.

Fantasy Impact

The Dodgers recalled Gavin Stone, who started Monday night against Atlanta, in a corresponding move. Kershaw’s mother passed away more than a week ago and the lefty has made two starts since her death. He labored through both starts against the Twins and Cardinals, pitching a combined 7.2 innings and allowing six earned runs while still striking out 13 batters. He is expected to make his next start on Saturday against the Rays, but that situation is obviously fluid and managers should check back before then.
