Cody Bellinger (knee) placed on IL
Cody Bellinger has been placed on the 10-day IL due to a left knee contusion, retroactive to 5/16.
Fantasy Impact
Bellinger was forced to leave Monday’s game early after injuring his knee and has not played since, and now will be officially placed on the IL. It’s unclear if he will require more than a minimum stay, but Christopher Morel should continue to man center field in the meantime.

Nico Hoerner returns from IL
Nico Hoerner (hamstring) is leading off and playing second base Friday vs the Phillies.
Fantasy Impact
Hoerner has been out since 5/8 due to a hamstring strain, but has progressed well and returns when first eligible. He’ll continue his great start to the season at the top of the lineup for the Cubs going forward.

Jose Altuve officially activated off IL
Jose Altuve was activated Friday and will play in Houston’s weekend series against Oakland.
Fantasy Impact
Altuve broke his thumb during the WBC in March and recently completed his rehab assignment. He struggled in the minors, going 2-for-22 in Double-A and Triple-A. However, for fantasy managers who roster the perennial All-Star, he is worth starting considering he gets the A’s as his first opponent. The 33-year-old has slashed .310/.367/.479 with 183 HR and 239 stolen bases in his career.
