Carlos Carrasco (elbow) to start Friday

New York Mets veteran pitcher Carlos Carrasco will start Friday in his return from a bone spur in his right elbow.

Fantasy Impact

Carrasco has been on the 15-day injured list due to the elbow ailment but appears set to return late in the week. The righty has made just three starts this season while scuffling to an 8.56 ERA and 0.0% K-BB% across 13 2/3 innings of work. He lines up to face the Guardians to kick off a three-game weekend set at home Friday night.

Tyler Glasnow goes four strong in rehab start Tuesday

Tampa Bay Rays starter Tyler Glasnow pitched four strong innings in a rehab start for the Durham Bulls Tuesday night.

Fantasy Impact

Glasnow punched out nine of the 16 hitters he faced with just one walk and three hits allowed across four innings of work on Tuesday. Glasnow has yet to pitch in the big leagues due to an oblique injury while he pitched just 6 2/3 innings in the 2022 campaign. The oft-injured hurler would be a welcome addition to a Rays rotation that lost Jeffrey Spring for the season due to Tommy John surgery while Drew Rasmussen recently hit the 60-day injured list with a flexor strain in his right forearm.

Eloy Jimenez runs the bases Tuesday

Chicago White Sox outfielder/designated hitter Eloy Jimenez ran the bases Tuesday as he works his way back from appendectomy surgery.

Fantasy Impact

Jimenez was initially expected to miss four-to-six weeks after undergoing surgery on May 6 but it appears he is ahead of schedule. White Sox skipper Pedro Grifol said he’s hopeful Jimenez can be swinging by the end of next week and “if he keeps going the way he’s progressing, we’re looking for him to join us sooner rather than later.” The 26-year-old is hitting .258 with four homers and a .744 OPS across 25 games on the campaign.
