Two-Start SP Rankings & Pickups: Week 6 Lookahead (2023 Fantasy Baseball)

Two-Start SP Rankings & Pickups: Week 6 Lookahead (2023 Fantasy Baseball)

Every fantasy baseball manager should always be looking to get a leg up on the competition in any way possible. Planning and playing the waiver wire well are two of the most effective ways. With the “Two-Start Pitcher Lookahead,” the goal is to peer two weeks into the future and point out those lesser-owned (under 60%) starting pitchers that should be taking the mound twice for their clubs.

It could pay off if the room is available on your fantasy roster to grab and wait a week on one of these starters, particularly the first few. Why wait around for the bidding war to start immediately before their two-start week? Get ahead of things now.

Keep in mind that situations can change quickly with MLB rotations. Given the way things stand at the time of writing, the collection of hurlers below should be in line to get that coveted two-start week down the road.

Two-Start Pitcher Lookahead (May 8 – 14)

Top Pick

Mitch Keller (SP – PIT): 46% Rostered – vs COL, at BAL

Keller has turned in a fantastic month on the mound, emerging as the “ace” of the uber-surprising Pirates (NL-best 18-8 at time of writing). Over five starts in April, the post-hype righty went 3-0 on the back of a 2.90 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 32-to-8 K/BB ratio across 31 innings. In his most recent outing this past Thursday against the Dodgers, Keller surrendered just two runs on five hits and a walk while matching a career-high 10 strikeouts and recording 15 swinging strikes (15.5%). He should be rostered at a far higher percentage. Add him ASAP.
