OwnersBox MLB Top Plays: April 26 (2023)

MLB is back in full swing! Our friends at OwnersBox have us covered for the entire MLB season with two exciting and unique DFS games to choose from: SuperFlex Salary Cap and Lightning Lineups.

SuperFlex Salary Cap is a salary cap based MLB DFS contest with a unique twist. There is a “superflex” slot that allows you to start a player of any position. That’s right, including pitchers. Pick nine players while staying under the $50,000 salary cap. The potential addition of a second pitcher to lineups means more strategy, more potential edges, and, you guessed it, more fun and entertainment. Whether you are familiar with their offerings from other sports or not, this is a fun, new twist that all MLB DFS enthusiasts need to try out.

Lightning lineups are another fun and unique way to play MLB DFS. You start out presented with three lineup combinations. You can choose one of the three lineups to outscore the others, or you can add additional lineups to choose from (up to 10), increasing the multiplier in the process. If you do not like any of the lineups you see, simply tap the Lightning Lineup logo near the bottom of the screen to be presented with a new set of lineups to choose from. This is a contest I fell in love with during the NFL season and will be one of my preferred ways to play MLB DFS this season.

Top OwnersBox MLB Plays for 4.26.23

James Outman (OF – LAD): $3,800

Rookie outfielder James Outman has caught fire for the Dodgers and stands out as one of the top values of the day at OwnersBox. He will face off against Roansy Contreras. Roansy has struggled with command issues this season and will be facing off against a hot bat that has put up two multi-homer games in his last five outings. Outman posted at least 42.5 fantasy points in each of those outings. He has an incredible matchup to target and should be a strong consideration for all of your lineups for today’s slate.

Randy Arozarena (OF – TB): $5,900

Arozarena has been one of the hottest hitters in the league and will look to keep the good times rolling against Hunter Brown and the Houston Texans. His price tag is on the higher end but still represents a value based on the price tag of others who have not enjoyed his level of success this season. Arozarena has posted 26.5 fantasy points in two of his last four games. He has reached base safely in eight straight games and should find a way to do so again against Brown. Brown has been solid this season and has kept the left fielder hitless in two at-bats but will be facing a different Arozarena than we saw last season.

Jeremy Pena (OF – HOU): $4,600

Pena has started to heat up for the Astros, making him a strong value for tonight’s state. His batting average leaves a lot to be desired, but he is in the midst of a hot streak that is worth riding until he cools down. The second-year man has scored 15 or more fantasy points in three of the last four, making him one of the hottest hitters in baseball fantasy-wise. Pena is well on his way to a 20/30 or perhaps a 30/30 campaign and has the green light on the base paths, swiping a bag on all five of his attempts over the last 10 days. He has a strong matchup against struggling Calcin Faucher, an opener who has struggled with command issues in all but one of his appearances. Fire up Pena if you are in need of a low-cost, high-upside outfielder.
