OwnersBox MLB Top Plays: April 10 (2023)

MLB is back in full swing! Our friends at OwnersBox have us covered for the entire MLB season with two exciting and unique DFS games to choose from: SuperFlex Salary Cap and Lightning Lineups.

SuperFlex Salary Cap is a salary cap based MLB DFS contest with a unique twist. There is a “superflex” slot that allows you to start a player of any position. That’s right, including pitchers. Pick nine players while staying under the $50,000 salary cap. The potential addition of a second pitcher to lineups means more strategy, more potential edges, and, you guessed it, more fun and entertainment. Whether you are familiar with their offerings from other sports or not, this is a fun, new twist that all MLB DFS enthusiasts need to try out.

Lightning lineups are another fun and unique way to play MLB DFS. You start out presented with three lineup combinations. You can choose one of the three lineups to outscore the others, or you can add additional lineups to choose from (up to 10), increasing the multiplier in the process. If you do not like any of the lineups you see, simply tap the Lightning Lineup logo near the bottom of the screen to be presented with a new set of lineups to choose from. This is a contest I fell in love with during the NFL season and will be one of my preferred ways to play MLB DFS this season.

Fantasy Baseball Draft Kit

Top OwnersBox MLB Plays for 4.10.23

Geraldo Perdomo (2B/SS – ARI):$3,000

Perdomo is sure to be a chalky name with how hot he has been to start the season, but at a $3,000 salary, he is hard to ignore whether you are building one or multiple lineups. He has averaged 16 fantasy points per game over his last three games, buoyed by two monster outings in which he posted 29 or more fantasy points. OwnersBox seems to be hesitant to raise his salary, so ignore the low projection and take advantage of sliding the red-hot shortstop into your lineup while he is cooking.

Julio Rodriguez (OF – SEA): $5,600

When you can roster one of the top players in baseball for under $6,000 at OwnersBox, you have to give said player serious consideration. When his name is Julio Rodriguez, you put him in your lineup and figure out the rest. Julio has averaged 14 fantasy points per game over his last three and has been one of the more consistent players this season, scoring fewer than 7.5 fantasy points just twice in 10 games. The 30/30 threat is batting .283 and already has two dingers and four swipes. Add in the league-leading 10 runs scored, and he is someone who should be a lineup fixture until further notice.

Jordan Walker (DH – STL): $3,300

The rookie hitter has been sizzling for the Cardinals and should be a lineup mainstay until MLB pitchers figure him out. Walker has averaged 11 fantasy points per game over his last three outings and has put up 24.5 or more fantasy points in two of his last four games. He does have some peaks and valleys but will be playing in a hitting park at Coors Field. He will have to square off against a solid pitcher in German Marquez but will look to exploit a pitcher who just can’t seem to get a handle on his home park. Marquez allowed opponents to hit .333 off him at Coors last season, which led to a 6.70 ERA and a 1.60 WHIP. Tap Walker for your OwnersBox lineups for Easter Monday.
