Fantasy Baseball Prospects to Stash: Matthew Liberatore, Luis Ortiz, Logan Allen (2023)

Fantasy Baseball Prospects to Stash: Matthew Liberatore, Luis Ortiz, Logan Allen (2023)

It has been a wild few weeks with prospect callups. Four of our top five from the last stash list have now gotten the call to the Majors. The Angels made a surprise move by calling up 2022 first-round pick Zach Neto. Mason Miller got the call from the Athletics after just 23 innings in the Minors between 2022 and 2023. Tyler Freeman and Brayan Rocchio got the call from the Guardians. The list goes on and on of prospects that have gotten the call-up.

The MLB’s rule changes have pushed teams to promote their prospects sooner. It is great for the game when we see teams putting their best players on the field faster and that is what we have gotten the last two years.

So, who is next? What prospects do you need to stash for redraft leagues?

Top Prospects to Stash for Fantasy Baseball

Graduates from the last list: Brett Baty, Grayson Rodriguez, Vaughn Grissom, Edouard Julien.

Other Call-Ups: Zach Neto, Edouard Julien, Taj Bradley, Nolan Jones, Lenyn Sosa, Mason Miller, Tyler Freeman, Brayan Rocchio,

1. Matthew Liberatore (SP – STL) – Liberatore has seen increased velocity to pair with his curveball, which generates a ton of whiffs. He looks dominant, and the Cardinals’ rotation has been struggling. ETA: April

2. Luis Ortiz (SP – PIT) – Ortiz has been dominating Triple-A and has already shown he can pitch in the Majors. The Pirates need rotation help, and Ortiz should be next up. ETA: April

3. Logan Allen (SP – CLE) – Allen being ahead of Tanner Bibee may surprise you. Allen has looked dominant and considering he spent half of the season in Triple-A last year, he may get the first crack in Cleveland rotations among prospects. ETA: April

4. Tanner Bibee (SP – CLE) – Bibee looks like he is emerging into an ace. He has dominated his two starts and has not allowed a run in 11 innings. He has high-end command with an impressive arsenal. ETA: May

5. Brandon Pfaadt (SP – ARI) – Pfaadt led the Minors in innings and strikeouts last season. He has been solid this year and does not have anything left to prove in the PCL. ETA: May

6. Matt Mervis (1B – CHC) – After a rough spring and a slow start in Triple-A Mervis is mashing again. Eric Hosmer and Trey Mancini are struggling, its time for Mervis to get his chance. ETA: May

7. Kyle Manzardo (1B – TB) – Manzardo is hitting the ball harder than ever and still making high-end contact. He has set a new max exit velocity by nearly four mph this season. Manzardo is elite. ETA: May

8. Chase Silseth (SP – LAA) – Silseth has been dominant in three Triple-A starts. He has a 1.20 ERA in 15 innings and makes the Angels rotation better. ETA: April

9. Sal Frelick (OF – MIL) – Joey Wiemer may have beaten Frelick to the Majors, but any struggles could lead Frelick to get his shot. Frelick is the better pure hitter, despite Wiemer having great tools. ETA: May

10. Endy Rodriguez (C – PIT) – Rodriguez just hits. He has hit at every stop and developed more power last season. He is versatile and can play multiple positions but he is good enough to be an everyday catcher with a great bat. ETA: May
