News and notes:

Liam Hendriks announced on Thursday that he is cancer-free, the best news you will find all season. He remains without a timetable to return, but the White Sox should provide a more clear timetable in the coming days.

One of the more disappointing closers to start this season for fantasy managers has been Ryan Pressly. It hasn’t been as much on him as it has been due to a slow start for the entire Astros team. He remains the clear closer for Houston, and chances are they’ll start to play better and provide more save opportunities for Pressly.

The Rockies activated Daniel Bard (anxiety) off the IL. Pierce Johnson had been the closer for the Rockies up until this point, and it is possible he remains in that role for now as Colorado eases Bard back into action.

Aroldis Chapman has thrown seven scoreless innings with 13 strikeouts to two walks so far this season. The Royals’ closer situation is a committee for now between Chapman and Scott Barlow, but it is possible we see Chapman move more into that role on his own. The Royals don’t provide their closers many save chances, regardless.

Andres Munoz (shoulder) threw off the mound for the first time on Tuesday. He threw at reportedly about 80 percent effort and was still throwing 98 MPH. It is likely he’ll throw some bullpen sessions before facing live hitters and heading to a rehab assignment next before returning to the Mariners bullpen. Paul Sewald remains the clear closer in the Mariners’ bullpen right now.
