With the season behind us and the draft quickly approaching, dynasty managers are making moves. Good managers are working on putting their draft plans into place and either selling studs for picks or acquiring assets on the rise. Here are some players I’m trying to move off of my team before the NFL Draft has the potential to damage their trade value further.

Players to Trade Now in Dynasty Leagues
Here are players to trade away ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Lamar Jackson (QB – BAL)
Jackson is the elephant in the free agency room. He is representing himself in the negotiations with the Ravens and as of right now a deal has not been reached. Another team may decide they don’t want to bother offering him something that the Ravens can just match anyway. It’s possible that he signs with the Ravens and plays under duress. It’s also possible that he may sit out at least some of the season.
All of these possibilities make me nervous about his fantasy value. As talented as Jackson is, if he’s not on the field then he’s not an asset I want to roster. Now might be the best time to sell high on him before the Ravens make an official decision one way or another. If you can find top 5 QB value for him then I say do it. If you’re looking to contend I would definitely try moving on from Jackson if you can.
Tony Pollard (RB – DAL)
This one kind of hurts my soul. As soon as Ezekiel Elliott was cut by the Cowboys, Pollard’s value went up, and rightfully so. It’s still pretty high, around the RB12-16 range in most places, but I’m not sure it stays there after the draft. The team clearly doesn’t want to rely on a single back so why would they go all in on Pollard? I believe they draft another running back to compliment Pollard. At which point, Pollard’s value should dip a little. I’d rather sell high now and buy him back after that dip if possible, as much as that pains me to say. The worst-case scenario is that the team doesn’t draft anyone and Pollard’s value stays the same. I don’t see it getting much higher than it is right now.
Joe Mixon (RB – CIN)
Similar to Pollard, I think Mixon is pretty much at his peak value in dynasty right now. There is talk about the Bengals drafting a running back, much like the Cowboys, but I’ve heard from multiple places that they might even sign former Cowboy Ezekiel Elliott to supplement Mixon this season. There’s also talk that the team will cut Mixon outright once they draft his replacement. Sell Mixon for whatever you can right now before the cliff hits and he’s a free agent in May. As dominant as the Bengals’ offense is, if Mixon isn’t on it, his dynasty value will tank hard and fast.
Michael Pittman Jr. (WR – IND)
I could make the argument that Pittman should be a buy-low. He’s got a ton of upside and it’s very likely that the team will draft their franchise quarterback at the draft, so why sell now? Well, it’s partially because everyone’s calling him a buy-low and partially because his future is still uncertain. If everyone’s buying, or being told to buy, then someone’s gotta sell, right? And even if they get their future QB there’s no way to know if it’s the next Justin Herbert or the next Zach Wilson. Take the value now and move on to other more consistent and reliable assets instead. I don’t see his value going up regardless of who they get, so now might be the best time to move him thanks to all of the optimism about him.
Marquise Brown (WR – ARI)
It’s hard to call Brown a sell-high but hear me out. For me, when I think of selling high, I think of players that may have already hit their peak and are trending downward. I think Brown hit his peak with Baltimore and is unlikely to regain that. In addition, his current value is somewhat depressed due to Kyler Murray‘s injury, so I’m not entirely sure if his value is going up or down right now. That being said, some people think he’s going to bounce back after they trade or cut DeAndre Hopkins, so keep his name in your brain in the coming weeks in case news drops. Once that move happens, I’m selling Brown everywhere I have him, because I just don’t like his outlook all that much.
Dalton Schultz (TE – HOU)
Tight ends are tough for lists like this. I was tempted to put Travis Kelce but I still think he’s a hold. Instead, I chose Schultz, a lower-valued player with some name recognition who is moving to a new offense entirely. He played well on the Cowboys when he was healthy, but with all of the question marks on this new Texans team, I’m not sure I want to keep riding with Schultz anymore. If someone’s high on him I’m fine trading him away for picks or younger assets or packaging him with a pick to improve at TE. Overall, Schultz could be a stud in the making, but his floor is really low too. At tight end, I prefer the range of outcomes to be tighter, pun intended, so I’m out on Schultz.
