Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups & Advice: Week 19 (2023)

It’s time for another look at the waiver wire to find players that you can add for short-term and long-term success.

We’ll look at players that you should consider picking up who are rostered in four different rostership tiers:

  • 50-60%
  • 30-49%
  • 15-29%
  • 0-14%

What’s more, we’ll give you a breakdown of how many games each team has for the upcoming week so that you can maximize the minutes of your streamers.

Without further delay, let’s get to it, starting with the schedule of games being played for next week.

Week 19 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Advice

Four games:

ATL, BKN, CHA, CLE, DEN, DET, MIA, NOP, NYK, OKC, PHI, POR, WAS

Three games:

BOS, DAL, GSW, HOU, IND, LAL, MEM, MIL, ORL, SAC, TOR, UTA

Two games:

CHI, LAC, MIN, PHX, SAS

Rostered in 50-60% of leagues:

Immanuel Quickley (PG, SG – NYK)

Quickley has quietly – say that 8 times fast – put up top-75 numbers over the last two weeks. OK, since the All-Star break, but let’s have the numbers tell the narrative. He has scored in double-figures in every game since Feb. 7, and he’s been playing in the mid-20s for minutes regularly, as well. Scoop him up.

Zach Collins (PF, C – SAS)

We’ll just leave him here because he isn’t rostered in more than 60 percent of leagues yet. He’s doing what he hoped he would since the trade deadline, putting up top 50 numbers. Make sure he’s not available.

Rostered in 30-49% of leagues:

James Wiseman (C – DET)

OK – is this going to be a thing? He looks like a guy who is refreshed and playing with confidence. He followed up a double-double after the break with a 23-point, 7-rebound performance last week in 27 minutes. He’s worth grabbing for the upside alone.

Talen Horton-Tucker (SG, SF – UTA)

Over the last two weeks, THT is putting up top-66 numbers, and that’s only improved over the last week. THT has been seeing a bump in minutes lately, contributing across the board. It’s a sneaky post-deadline boost that we didn’t flag.

Rostered in 15-29% of leagues:

Isaiah Joe (PG, SG – OKC)

What do you know – it’s March, and SGA’s knee is giving him issues. It’s rest city SZN, baby. I expect Joe to be one of the biggest silly season players down the stretch, and we’ve already seen him put up big scoring performances in back-to-back games out of the All-Star break.

Devonte’ Graham (PG, SG – SAS)

Devin Vassell is suddenly back for the Spurs, but it looks like Malaki Branham may miss some time. If he does, I think Graham has the biggest fantasy gain. If you can take the big hit in FG%, we know he’s going to score.

Rostered in 0-14% of leagues:

Chris Bassey (PF/C – SAS)

While we do like Collins, Bassey should be more universally rostered, too. His minutes have increased, and he’s been big on the board, pulling in at least seven in four of his last five games. He’s one Collins injury away from being a must-roster player.

TyTy Washington (PG – HOU)

He only played five minutes against Memphis, but prior to that, he’s been playing a bigger role for the Rockets following the trade deadline. He’s not putting up elite numbers, but he can contribute in points, threes, assists, and steals in deeper leagues. The Rockets have nothing to play for, so I expect more usage and opportunity for Washington moving forward.
