Strategy/Advice
It’s pretty clear where the deficits are at positions this year. Therefore, most of your opponents will have the same outlook on the big board. While most are hyperventilating over the lack of depth at second base, I think first base should be more of a priority since there are plenty of bounce-back candidates hanging around second base. Make no mistake, the corners this year are thin as well and should be an early priority. Outfield is also full of landmines and plenty of mediocrity. There are some late gems, but fading outfielders early on is a mistake. Pitching, on the other hand, is very deep, especially in the #1A-#2 starter range. I would be hitting that group early and often trying to grab 3-4 arms in the SP10-SP30 range. Many of those names will have ace-like performances throughout the year. Closer for me is simple – wait. Take a shot on Anthony Munoz late and closers on bad teams with little competition. This year is about offense first, with pitching taking a backseat. Thanks for stopping by to read my cheat sheet.
