Dynasty Rookie Draft Profile: Nolan Smith
Nolan Smith Dynasty Rookie Draft Outlook
Smith might be a little too lean to play on the Edge in a 3-4 consistently, but he doesn’t play like a guy that is under 240. Smith did miss the majority of the 2022 season with a torn pec, but he’s the type of player that is dripping with potential and will either go in the backend of Round 1 or real quick on Day 2. Nolan Smith has an incredible first step blended with violent hands, a love for physicality, and a motor that runs hot. Smith isn’t going to get a bullrush going at his size, and he isn’t the dude to work through double teams, but he can play all 3 downs and is likely to build on his repertoire at the next level.

Nolan Smith 2023 NFL Draft Outlook
Has the temperament and athletic tools to be a major weapon off the edge in the modern game, but seems a year or two behind schedule in terms of his frame and rush repertoire, questions that he will have to address. Winning in different ways during the season and testing well at 245 pounds or higher during the pre-draft process could help him skyrocket up boards; otherwise, he may slip a bit as teams wonder where the progress in his game is.
