Derek Carr: Saints rumored to be suitor
Rumors about a potential connection between the Saints and Raiders for Derek Carr were swirling at the Senior Bowl this week in Mobile.

Carr’s $40.4 million guaranteed salary is set to lock in on February 15, and the QB has stated he will not extend that deadline. New Orleans head coach Dennis Allen coached Carr for one year in Oakland, and the Saints have additional picks following the Sean Payton deal.

Patrick Mahomes II said Thursday that he avoided setbacks on his ankle in the AFC Championship.

Mahomes said he had just general soreness from a physical game. “Other than that, I’m in a good spot,” Mahomes said. With two weeks off from the AFC Championship to the Super Bowl, Mahomes should be much healthier for the big game against the Eagles. The Chiefs wide receiver room is banged up, but we know what Mahomes is capable of regardless.

JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) has a chance to be ready for the Super Bowl
Andy Reid said Thursday that he is optimistic JuJu Smith-Schuster will be able to play in the Super Bowl.

“He’s in a good place,” Reid said on Smith-Schuster. He left the AFC Championship early due to a knee injury and missed practice on Wednesday, but with over a week left till the Super Bowl, it sounds like Smith-Schuster is still on track to being able to partake in the biggest game of the season.
