We’re winding down to the All-Star break! We have just three more slates until then, and this Valentine’s Day card should be an interesting one. We only have five games to discuss, but we have some fascinating matchups. The Milwaukee-Boston and Golden State-Los Angeles matchups are the ones everyone will be talking about, but the Sacramento-Phoenix game fascinates me as well. That’s a fun group of games, so let’s go ahead and get into it!

Injury Report
Core Plays
Damian Lillard (PG – POR): $11,100 DraftKings, $10,400 FanDuel
Lillard was on his way to another masterpiece on Monday if that game weren’t a blowout, collecting 40 points, six rebounds, and five assists. It’s hard to believe he did that despite sitting the final six minutes, but it’s been common for Dame over recent weeks. The superstar has scored at least 57 DraftKings points in 17 of his last 21 games, generating a 57-point average in that span. That should be easy to duplicate here, with Washington allowing 135 points on Monday.
Fred VanVleet (PG – TOR): $9,200 DraftKings, $8,800 FanDuel
Van Vleet got off to a slow start this year, but he’s rolling right now. Freddy has scored at least 42 fantasy points in 12 of his last 14 games, generating a 48-point average in that span. His role makes him extremely reliable, taking 21 shots while playing 39 minutes a night in that same stretch. Orlando is an outstanding matchup, too, with FVV dropping 44 fantasy points in their most recent matchup.
Derrick White (PG/SG – BOS): $7,100 DraftKings, $7,200 FanDuel
Fade White at your own risk. Boston will likely be without Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart, leaving White to run the show. That’s what he’s been doing recently anyway, scoring at least 36 DraftKings points in five of his last six games. He’s also averaging over 40 fantasy points per game in that span, and it’s scary to think how much usage he’ll be looking at with Boston’s three primary playmakers sidelined.
Cash Game Considerations
Giannis Antetokounmpo (PF/C – MIL): $12,700 DraftKings, $12,000 FanDuel
Giannis is one of the frontrunners for MVP, and he’s one of the best cash game options on every slate. The Greek Freak has scored at least 51 fantasy points in all 10 games since his return from injury, totaling a 63-point average in that span. You might be worried that he’s facing an elite Boston defense, but we just discussed how the Celtics are missing their three best players. Matchups don’t really matter with this guy, though, averaging 57 DK points in his last three meetings with Boston.
Malcolm Brogdon (PG – BOS): $5,700 DraftKings, $5,600 FanDuel
It’s hard to believe that Brogdon is below $6K on both sites with this sort of opportunity. Missing Tatum, Brown, and Smart is huge for his value, likely giving Brogdon 30-35 minutes, 15-20 shots, and a 30 percent usage rate. This guy was already posting a 27-point average in a limited bench role, and we genuinely believe he can double that here with this expanded opportunity. A worst-case scenario in this role would be 25-30 fantasy points, which still wouldn’t kill a sub-$6K player.
Wendell Carter Jr.(C – ORL): $5,700 DraftKings, $6,300 FanDuel
I’ve had Carter in this article ever since he returned from injury, and it’s hard to understand why he remains so affordable. The center has scored at least 26 DraftKings points in 29 of his 34 starts this year, averaging over 32 DK points per game in those outings. That’s all you can ask for from a $6K player, and Orlando will need big minutes from him here to oppose Pascal Siakam. We also don’t mind that WCJ has at least 33 DK points in each of his last three matchups with Toronto.
GPP Targets
Al Horford (PF/C – BOS): $5,000 DraftKings, $5,300 FanDuel
Big Al is getting near the end of his career, but he’s still got some upside. The veteran is coming off a 38-point gem in his most recent outing and has a 25-point average for the year. That’s on par with most $5K players, but we’ve seen Horford play at a $7K level just last year. All of the absences really add to his value here because Big Al should be one of the focal points of the offense with the Celtics playing so shorthanded.
Drew Eubanks (C – POR): $4,400 DraftKings, $4,600 FanDuel
Eubanks has done an excellent job of filling in at center with Jusuf Nurkic out over the last two years. Drew has started 45 games for Nurkic over the last two seasons, averaging 27 fantasy points per game in that expanded role. That’s usually what you see from a $6K player, and it’s hard to understand why Eubanks remains so cheap. A matchup with Washington is wonderful, too, with the Wizards allowing the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing centers.
Terance Mann (PG/SF – LAC): $4,300 DraftKings, $5,200 FanDuel
The Clippers made a considerable commitment to Mann over the trade deadline, parting ways with Reggie Jackson and John Wall. That should lock Mann into a 30-minute role as the starting point guard, and he’s been great in that position all year. Mann is averaging 31 DK points per game in the 15 outings he’s played at least 30 minutes, with most of those happening over the last two months. A matchup with Golden State is the best part of this, though, with the Warriors ranked 26th in total defense. In their last matchup, Terance totaled 29 DK points across 33 minutes.
Value Plays
Khris Middleton (SG/SF – MIL): $5,400 DraftKings, $6,000 FanDuel
It’s been a slow trend to get Middleton a full allotment of minutes, but we’re creeping closer. He played a season-high 25 minutes in Milwaukee’s most recent game and needs to see a price bump with the minutes increasing. Money Middleton also has at least 34 DK points in two of his last three outings, and we expect that to be his floor once he’s back to a 30-minute role. Not many people will use Middleton with his limited workload and tough matchup, but both of those variables are not as obtuse as they seem on the surface.
Kevon Looney (C – GSW): $4,100 DraftKings, $5,100 FanDuel
Big Loon has been huge for the Warriors once again, averaging 24 DK points per game this season. That’s an amazing total from such an affordable player, and he comes into this matchup scoring 29 and 37 DK points in his two most recent outings. The boost in playing time is what’s most important in that recent resurgence because he dropped 24 fantasy points across 16 minutes in his last meeting with LA. If he somehow doubles both of those and matches the 32 minutes he played last night, Loon would be one of the best values of the day.
Shaedon Sharpe (SG/SF – POR): $3,700 DraftKings, $4,500 FanDuel
Trading Josh Hart looked like a strange move for Portland, but it looks like they want to give Sharpe every chance to succeed. The rookie has seen his fantasy production go from 24 to 29 to 35 DraftKings points in his three most recent outings. That steady bump should lead to more playing time going forward, and these price tags don’t match the uptick in production and playing time.
