Max Duggan Dynasty Rookie Draft Outlook

Duggan is an efficient thrower when working in a rhythm. He ran TCU’s RPO offense sufficiently, working the short and intermediate areas of the field while getting the ball out of his hands quickly. He is an adventure against the pass rush. When he faces interior pressure or his first read isn’t open, he can get happy feet and pats the football like he’s trying to burp a newborn baby.

Even though TCU didn’t task him with full-field reads, Duggan seemed to be a second or two behind on getting the ball out. His processing is thrown off sometimes as he refuses to come off his first read. If this happens and he faces pressure, he usually drops his eyes and looks to scramble. Duggan can be late to feel the rush. He’s a developmental QB prospect that will need some time to catch up to NFL systems and the speed of the game.

Max Duggan 2023 NFL Draft Outlook

Max Duggan is a productive, tough quarterback who makes sound decisions with the football, shows appropriate touch on his passes, and offers the ability to pick up yardage with his feet on designed runs or as a scrambler. However, he has below-average physical tools, relatively pedestrian arm talent, and occasional issues with ball placement that either result in incompletions or limit yards after the catch. Those limitations may make him more of a backup/spot-starter at the pro level, projecting as more of a mid-round selection.
